Thanks to weearerockband. Pours a brownish amber with a small bubbly off white head. Aroma of toasted malt, light chocolate and grainy malts. Flavor of the same with some light smoke and lots of toasty notes along with some nuts.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottled 120408. Darkly malty nose with lightly bitter and strongly roasty overtones. Dry nuttiness and touch of black licorice. Mahogany nearly-opaque pour with a rocky, pillowy light brown head. Dry, gritty, roasty taste has backed off a bit, main body instead comes off saccharine and berry-laden. Smooth chocolate and an acidic tang that detracts somewhat. Mid-/full-bodied with well-hidden alcohol and absolutely no burn; much smoother than most of the Baltic porters I’ve had - and that’s probably for the better.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
12oz bottle. Intense choco-coffee dark malt aroma. Thick black-brown color with some stained glass red edges. The taste is rich, malty, and smooth. Some stouty roasted malts and Rye really help in rounding out the dark balance of the beer. There is no real tinge of alcohol like in most true Baltic examples. A really good beer, complex, yet still has a watery smooth, sweet finish

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle dated 11-12-2008 Pours a Deep cola like which you can not see through. Has a quickly diminshing tan head which produces a thin light lacing. Has plent of sense tingling aromas. Chocolate coffee, licorice and nutty malts. Lightly carbinated is perfect for this hearty sweet beer. Very smooth and a wonderful mouthfeel. No real noticable aftertaste. A very good beer. I really enjoyed it.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle, thanks Ty5592! Pours brown with a creamy and somewhat lacy beige head at cellar temp. Sweet aroma of chocolate, caramel, licorice, cookie dough. Nicely rounded medium body with light, fine carbonation. Sweet taste of chocolate, caramel, licorice and fig contributing to chewy malt goodness. Dry espresso finish with some smoke and just a sliver of pine. This beer seems to have pretty much nailed the style.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottled on 10-22-08 and consumed just over two months later. The pour is a deep chestnut brown with hints of violet. A small, foamy, beige colored head quickly dissipates, leaving a wispy film with a dense rim. Scattered spots of lacing mark the glass. The aroma kicks off with malted chocolate, burnt toffee, scorched caramel, and hints of coffee roastiness. Rye lends a unique, fresh, grainy element, while hints of indiscernible dark fruits and earthy hops lend contrasting sweet and bitter notes. The flavor shows more of the same, malted chocolate, caramel and toffee leading the charge, with hints of mocha, fig, and a rye overtone. Medium bodied at best, finishing relatively light and dry, the mouthfeel falls short for the style. This is not a bad beer, but it really does not excel in any particular area, either. Decent brew.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
No head to speak of and lightly carbonated. Slightly light black in color. Weak hops in aroma with a touch of licorice thrown in. Light tasting roasted malt flavor. Overall, a nice porter but nothing that I would get too excited about. Dominions Oak Barrel Stout is far better much offering in my opinon.
