Shared 355 ml bottle at local tasting. Dark brown colour, moderate beige head. Caramel and chocolate in the aroma. Medium sweet flavour, plenty of caramel, also some chocolate, the roasty notes are very moderate. Fair enough.

Shared bottle at local tasting. Pours clear dark ruby with a small creamy beige head. Lovely dark malty aroma. Taste is distinct malty, not sweet at all, just thick malty with liquorice notes at the weak dry lingering roasty finish. Lovely beer.

Shared bottle at RB/HD 07.02.15. Very dark copper. Brown head. Fine, but moderate, aroma of dark chocolate and porter, with just the slightest hint of peat. Similar taste. Round mouthfeel. Good drinkability.

0,355 flaske på rbhd-samling feb-15: mørk brunrød med filmskum. Innsmigrende aroma av mørk sjokolade, karamell og markjordbær. Smaken er like deilig som aromaen, og karbonering/munnfylde er også behagelig. Smud! Og særdeles lett å helle inn over drøvelen.

Bottle. Dark w decent head. Not much aroma. Lightly sweet. Mild slightly watery porter. Not as much flavor as I would expect from a Baltic porter. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Rich malt aroma with notes of toast and licorice. Clear dark reddish brown appearance with a tan head with good retention. Flavor is malt forward, but is one dimensional with hints of toast. No hop flavor with medium bitterness. Mouthfeel is medium high with medium carbonation. Overall, it's a decent Baltic porter, could be more complex. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

12 oz bottle into a pint glass. A: Pours a dark brown color - it’s pretty light for the style. The head is about a finger high with a khaki shade. It retains decently and leaves a nice ring of lacing on the glass. S: This doesn’t bring a significant amount of the notes I look for in the style, like chocolate or dark fruit. Rather, the fruit notes here are pretty light (light as in, closer to peaches than, say, raisins), the malts seem more akin to brown sugar or caramel (but there are chocolate notes) and the lager yeast is rather evident. As a Baltic porter, it’s closer to a big dark lager than the lagered imperial stout most in the style are wont to become. Still, the aroma works fine enough. T: It’s not very chocolaty; rather, its initial caramel character is more akin to a bock. There’s a slight hoppy touch on the finish resembling mint, or even tobacco. The lager ’bite’ is also rather prevalent, and I swear there’s a touch of cereal grain floating around. Every once in a while I get hints of chocolate and dark fruits - this is probably the highlight of the brew. Seems rather boozy for 6.8%, though. M: The feel is surprisingly lush and full. This comes at the price of an overly heavy finish, so it’s not ’chuggable’ in that respect. Carbonation remains on the back burner, making it seem even more sweet. O: Not my favorite interpretation of the style, but not terrible. As a BOCK, though, it’s actually pretty killer. Since I’m not much of a bock fan, this one ends up being merely okay to my frazzled taste buds.

Poured from a bottle. Pours hazy dark coffee brown. Aroma of malt and fruit. Bitter, roasty flavors with notes of malt. Good beer, would prefer it a bit thicker though.

Bottled. Nice malty backbone to this one. Chocolate is strong and a hearty finish. Good beer.
