hershiser2 (847), Charlottesville, Virginia, USA Dec 24, 2005 Paid $1.40 for a 12-oz single at Wine Warehouse, Charlottesville, VA. Pours a very pretty dark amber with an inch of head. Bittersweet cascade hops in the nose, with hints of grapefruit, pine, and other luscious citrus. Tasty! Light malt, which is perfect for an IPA starts it off, followed by a piney grapefruitiness. Finishes with a bit of an orange flavor mixed with a pleanant caramel, with plenty of bitterness at the end. This is outstanding... they have to make this a regular issue or they’d be doing us all a disservice. Reminds me a bit of Sierra Nevada Celebration, which I happen to love... though I think I like this one better Trooper11 (440), Suffolk, Virginia, USA Oct 17, 2006 November 29 2005 bottle date. Beautiful reddish-orange brew with average size foamy beige head. The aroma says IPA, cascade hops gallore. Deep bitter hop flavor, very fresh. Finish is piney, semi-dry, beautiful IPA. shadey (1319), Rochester, New York, USA Apr 1, 2006 Clear orange color with a thin white head. Beautiful rich aroma that is difficult to describe. Big delicious malt with a hop finish. I’m blown away. This is beautiful. JonR888710 (1000), Cochabamba, Bolivia Jan 7, 2006 Nice amber body with a golden-butter head that waterfalls and looks glorious. Aroma is 3 headed hops with all the ones that are susposed to be there. Taste is bright and strong, crisp cool hops along with a nice yeastiness. This company has made so many versions of this style, and really, this is probably the best. No faults here. Volgon (2458), Manchester, New Hampshire, USA Aug 23, 2006 Bottled 111705 drank on 082306: Deep dark cloudy orange with a thin white head. Rich earthy hops in the aroma, with some musty pine, starts and ends bitter, full bodied with a syrupy texture and mild carbonation. Ends with caramel. Well put together and good hiding of the alcohol.
