UPDATED: SEP 28, 2014 330 ml bottle from Birra+. Dark amber/copper, pretty clear, with a big, fluffy and persistent off white head. Surely a nowhere-near-black- black IPA. Very elegent and delicate smell. Tropical fruit explosion, citrus, red berries jam/marmelade, a hint of toffee and perhaps some subtle coffee notes in the far background. Pretty glorious aroma overall. Tastes nothing like a black IPA as well, but more like a beefed up amber ale and a red IPA mix. Very fruity, quite malty and rich, definitely more bitter than sweet. Extremely easy to drink, the 7% ABV is well hidden. The aftertaste could be longer, but it’s nice and refined. Average carbonation, medium body, creamy texture. If I had to judge this beer as a black IPA, then the word "complete disaster" would be appropriate. It doesn’t look, doesn’t smell and doesn’t taste like it. But whatever this beer is, it’s pretty damn good. Finally another solid Del Ducato offering after quite a few disappointments.

Tap tasted on 05/07/2014. Black opaque colour with a consistent white to beige head. Aroma is very rich in roast malts and coffee. Taste is light sweet with notes of coffee and bitter dark chocolate. Very drinkable beer and well balanced. Next one please!

In tap at Ines Stube in nibionno. Very drinkable beer but slightly out of style. Some sweetness that makes it not so pleasent

6.5% ABV (according to the beer menu): draught in Open Baladin, Rome on 10th Dec 2013 during a mini-session. Pours a really dark brown (the bar isn’t bright, so difficult to get the true colours): on top a lightly tanned foaming cover. The nose and taste were dominated by the over roasted malts which gave an almost burnt feel to everything. Dark, dark bitter chocolate and old ground coffee mush were the two main flavours I obtained from this fairly interesting and yet almost one dimensional brew. I liked it’s simplicity and honesty: my second ever ’Italian Craft Beer’, I am enjoying myself!
