Thx for a grand tasting, Chris_o :) dark clear amber, short head, notes of malt and toffee, sweet and no real aftertaste. Little metallic.

Bottle from Favourite Beers, Cheltenham. Copper coloured with a contrasting white head and slight carbonation. Nutty aroma with toffee and a trace of orange fruit. Sweetish, chewy, cereal malt flavour with an earthy edge and decent bitter finish. Good.

Bottle@The Mount Inn, Stanton (Cotswolds). Golden brown beer with little head. The aroma is gently malty, and the flavour is mildly malty and roasted. Overall a weak malty effort of a beer.

Bottle 50cl. at home.
[ Thx. Fin ]. Clear medium to dark amber color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white to white head. Aroma is moderate to light heavy malty, caramel, toffee. Flavor is moderate to light heavy sweet and light bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is watery to oily, carbonation is soft. [150908]

Small yellowish head, over paler chestnut beer with a light olive shine. Outspoken toffee nose, bit of parsley. Dry, soft-bitter taste, leafy & greenery. Very much like a top-fermenting interpretation of a German Dunkel. Pretty good, actually, growing on me. Finish has a hint of arachide. Light bodied, light slickness, pretty dry. Better than most bottled light British ales. From the brewery that I love, without ever having experienced it. VERY big thanks to Darren!

Courtesy of Fonefan. The color is beautiful, dark red copper and the head is creamy. The aroma has notes of toffee, malt and fruit. The flavour has a light sweetness and notes of toffee, light candy sugar/syrup, light fruits like melon and papaya, and it ends dry. It’s harmonic, uncomplicated and quite charming.

Picked this up at Belingers Jet garage, Grove near Wantage, Oxon, consumed at home 23-09-08 Pours amber in colour, this was quite nice if a little light. Some oakiness and vanilla where I’m getting that from I don’t know. Its quite simple, left it for half an hour walked off doing something else and it had really opened up even better when I returned. I like this, its tasty but not an exciter.

A Mes rate: Bottle at Chris O’s laid back Friday night tasting.
Amber with a thin but well behaved off white head. Lovely toffee and underlying earthy malt. Nice and chewy. Faint bitterness from the citric hoppage in the finish. Straight forward but very enjoyable.
