3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 imdownthepub (7491) - Banbury, - FEB 23, 2003
UPDATED: JUN 13, 2006 (Cask conditioned) Plenty of hops come through the aroma of this reddy brown loose headed beer. It quickly loses any fiz and settles to an easy drinking malt dominated warming ale. Very difficult to find, Donnington concentrate on their 15 tied pubs in Gloucestershire, but worth a try when you are in the area.

Queens Head, Stow-on-the-wold, Cotswolds. Darkish brown/amber, creamy head, caramel and butterscotch malts & light bitterness. A lovely session drink for sure, very moreish. There were 2 staunched lager drinkers in our group and they happily quaffed SBA all weekend. And I do mean all weekend...

Cask @ Queens head, Stow-on-the-wold, cotswolds. Darkish amber orange, light textured white head, watery body, light caramel malts & lighter bitterness. A hearty drink to be enjoyed indeed. I really enjoyed this one and the hospitality at the pub. Pub and SBA both heartily recommended. Even the Mrs liked it (!).
