3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 JorisPPattyn (7308) - Antwerpen, BELGIUM - SEP 4, 2012
Small yellowish ehad over (cold)hazed orange beer with countless small UFO’s. More (citrus)hop than honey in the nose, some spicy herb as well; the honey appearing in the background. Bitterish-spicy; yeast/dough flavours. Some alcoholic sweetness as well, liqueurish. Feels very carbonated to fizzy. Some gristslickness, medium bodied. Aftertaste carries some honey-like hints. Not distinctive enough. Balance is OK, but for the rest, I can’t get hot nor cold over this.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 sebletitje (5416) - Enghien, BELGIUM - MAR 25, 2012
Bottle @ VBPF’12.
3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 thirdeye11 (5001) - Dallas, Texas, USA - SEP 20, 2012
(33cl bottle thanks to bu11zeye) opaque ruddy gold, oily white head with nice lacing. Nose of sawdust, fruity, light alcohol, marshmallow, cream, interesting and unique. Taste of light bitter pine, wood, really estery, Bitter finish, oily but dry palate.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 sayravai (4655) - Helsinki, FINLAND - AUG 24, 2012
(Bottled, BBE 11/2013) Opaque amber with a medium, firm and lacy head. Honey-cerealy-malty, sweetish nose with strawberries and ripe fruit. Flavor is honeyish and somewhat sweet, but not cloying. Also berries strongly present with some raspberry stones and a touch of acidity with a harsh bitterness from the hops. Slightly smoother and better with yeast. Quite full body despite the fizzy CO2. Hides the alcohol well. I wonder if some NZ hops have been (over)used in this, given the harsh, exotic, lingering bitterness. 5547

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 mjs (3615) - Helsinki, FINLAND - MAY 9, 2013
(Bottle, 0.33 l, at One Pint Pub, 20130509) The beer poured deep mahogany coloured and clear. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had sourness, sweat and honey. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were sourness, malts, honey, yeast and bitterness. Aftertaste was sour. I think this beer shouldn’t have been sour. Weird.
