Een donker bier moet veel meer smaak hebben voor mij dan dat hier het geval is.

Brune rougeâtre, effervescence faible, col beige fin. Malts légèrement torréfiés, fruitée raisins, légèrement boisée, un peu vineuse, petite amertume sur la fin, ABV bien masqué, fait un penser à une vieille brune.

(Bottle, 0.33 l, at One Pint Pub, 20130509) The beer poured dark brown and hazy. Its head was medium sized and lightly brown. Aroma had malts, berries and fruitiness. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were malts, yeas, berries, sourness, sweetness and bitterness. Aftertaste was sour and bitter. More like an oud bruin than a dubbel but nevertheless a pleasant beer.

(bottle, 33cl) Hazy, brown colour with a short and tanned foamy head. Fruit-accented aroma with notes of cherries and red berries, combined by a leafy dark malt-character including a whiff of dark chocolate. Moderately sweet and slightly bitter flavour, medium bodied with a modest carbonation. Mildly toasted and leafy malty base with fruity notes and a touch of dark chocolate towards the sweet and delicately bitter finish; alcohol is well-hidden. Not bad. 27.X.12

33cl bottle. Seams hazy dark brown with medium , creamy lightly tanned head. Nose : attack of fruity bubblegum with toffee and chocolate that reminds me a bit of coca cola. Sip : medium body with oily texture and quite decent carbonation considering it’s body style. Sweet with notes of nuts, chocolate, some toffee. Overall moderate brownie like taste. Quite earthy with powder spices. Ending is mild and spicy, grated cacao nuts. The beer is interesting. I will merely finish this bottle.
