Schaum leicht hellbraun! Das Bier hat schöne bräunlich schimmernde Amberfarbe. Leicht bitterer aber gut im Geschmack. Bleibt aber im Abgang eher fahl-bitter, hier verliert das Bier deutlich Punkte!

Location: bierpoint53, drinks of the world Winterthur. drink cold (8°C) Eye: nice, unpretentious bottle. pours brownish red colour with thin fast-disappearing beige to white head. Nose: hoppy and almost a bit sour. reminds me a bit of a geuze. Mouth: hoppy, lot of herbs, grass, berries, sour. Palate: reminds me of a geuze once more. Cranberries, perhaps red- or blackcurrant or even cassis. herbal notes and earthy malts. Overall: nice hoppy beer with berries as well as strong malts.

330ml bottle from Drinks of the World, Winterthur. Pours a great red/amber colour. Sweet autumnal fruity taste with earthy malt, jam & caramel notes. Not as sticky sweet as others of this style. Very drinkable.

I think this beer missed the mark on a California style pale ale but not a bad beer at all. Poured clear amber with a off white head. Aroma of malty, hoppy, raisins. Low carbonation and medium body with slightly bitter finish. Enjoyable...

Sigmund (5118) - Tau, NORWAY - OCT 5, 2013
330 ml bottle. ABV is 5.4%. Beautiful copper to amber colour, moderate off-white head. Aroma first disappointing, of dust, caramel and stale jam, gets better as the beer warms up a little. The flavour is much better, malts, caramel (but not too sweet), burnt breadcrumbs, dark fruits, bitter hops in the finish. Quite enjoyable.

bartlebier (1718) - Belchum im Breisgau, GERMANY - MAY 12, 2013
33cl bottle, MHD 07.2013. Merci for the Chopfab series Allen. - Just as puzzled about what exactly in the recipe makes this qualify as a "California Pale Ale" as their Australian Golden Ale, but the will of a continental EU microbrewery do produce something out of context and new. Mission accomplished, this is a modest, malt-centered amber ale with modestly dosed earthy, herbal tea hops. Not as pronounced as the other Chopfabs, but still well-balanced pleasantly drinkable and fit to accompany different kinds of meals. Gone in a few gulps.
