3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 sayravai (4548) - Helsinki, - FEB 6, 2008
(Bottled, 0.75l) Very hazy, dark amber with a small, tanned head. Sweetish-caramely, dried-fruity aroma with anise, ashy hints, and some other spices. Caramely-malty, lightly roasty and stingy-bitter flavor with dryish-ashy honey and a bitter, mildly acidic finish. Medium-bodied, quite low-carbonated palate. A typical beer for the brewery - quite simple, strangely bitter, and a bit lager-like.
2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20 Frovigalning (1456) - Örebro, SWEDEN - MAR 18, 2012
Bottle bought at the brewpub, but it was named Biére Bio au Miel and had some honey on the sticker so I suppose this is the correct beer. Taste and smell of yeast and fruits. Very strong carbonation. Feels a bit like a saison with its mild and light taste, but it wasn’t very easy to drink.
2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 TaktikMTL (4226) - Montréal-Nord, Quebec, CANADA - MAY 19, 2009
(Rating #2396)
0.8 AROMA 1/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 1/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 2/20 Glouglouburp (4782) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - MAY 17, 2009
In short: An awful beer full of mould, rot and honey.
How: Bottle 750ml. Age unknown but probably fresh (consumed a few months after being purchased in a Belgium store)
The look: Almost clear golden body topped by a small off-white head
In long: A repulsive nose of moist and rotting fruits. Taste of wet mouldy cookies, rotting fruits and boiled vegetables all wrapped in a thick honey layer. Tastes every bit as good as it sounds. Drain pour. I can’t believe this is brewed by the usually interesting Des Fagnes. I hear they achieve that unique taste by pressing aborted foetuses of retarded Zimbabwean women they impregnated using sperm they scrape off the Brussels sewerage the nights Emmanuelle is on TV.
2.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 MartinT (6350) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - MAY 13, 2009
My Bottom Line:
This chaotic Belgian Strong Ale’s loud honey notes get plowed by large, sparse bubbles, while warm garbage whiffs attract unwanted onlookers.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A veil of foam skirts the hazy honeyed amber.
-Some green bitterness is tasted, but it quickly veers into rotting vegetables.
-Sweetness is prominent and clashes with the greenness (to be polite).
-Obviously, this bottle was different from the one the Fins had a year ago.
Bottle.

Bottled. Deep amberish brown colour with mediumsized beige head. Aroma is caramel malts, dry dark fruits along with spices, yeast and some grass. Flavour is quite much the same along with some mild earthyness and flowery hops. Aftertaste is mainly fruits meeting earth and yeast.
