3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Reviewed from notes.
This was poured into a tulip.
The appearance had a nice looking bronzed amber color to it. It had a one finger white foamy head that died at a moderate pace. There was just a bit of thin sliding lacing.
The smell had a delicately sweet malty base with a fairly deep rustic earthiness to it.
The taste was sweet and earthy with a decent rustic backup to it. I did get some sweet apples and pears in this one.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium with a decent sessionability about this. The carbonation was fairly smooth.
Overall, I say this was a pretty good saison worthy of having again.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Aroma of sweet malt, ripe fruits, some apples, yeast, some spices. Flavour is medium malty sweetness. Carbonation is on the high side, finish is dry. Interesting, not your typical Saison.

500 cl cc from Whole Foods PM. Hazy orange pour with fluffy, off-white head. Heavy cork pop. Nose is cobwebby malt, hopcitrus, tannins. Tastes malty, vibrant, with hops, and a british bitter quality plus some old aley yeast.

Decent Amber beer. It feels, smells and looks like a amber. Nothing special, nothing out of the ordinary. A shame.

37.5cl bottle. Hazy reddish brown colour with a nice off-white head. Grain, barnyard, light caramel and spices in the aroma. Fizzy carbonation (the cork pop heavily) and medium body. Taste is more on the sweet side with some earthy and spicy notes. Overall, an interesting beer.

3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Amber coloured beer, slightly hazy, with fluffy white head. Aroma keynote is farmhouse funk, some caramel, banana, slight grease tones, some leather. Flavour is sweet caramel, malts, cake, rather bitter though, some banana, young apple cider, mild white pepper. Finish is quite dry and bitter. Quite nice but in need of a bit more balance.
