A steady pour into my Bruery tulip produces a fat, two-finger thick, lightly tan colored head. The beer is a concentrated, but bright, amber color that shows a clear, bright amber depth when held up to the light. The aroma smells of lightly spicy hops, lots of cracker like malt, and perhaps a touch of English biscuits. There is a light cider like fruitiness to the nose, which gets a little floral like at times.

Dry up front, but it picks up a little sweetness in the middle and finish, which brings out a cider like note. Soft, caramelized malt notes, a touch of straw like pale wheat cracker notes, perhaps hint of hop herb / spice character in the finish, but sort of a metallic note is there as well. The body is fairly light, and this is definitely effervescent.

Cider is definitely the dominant characteristic here in both the flavor and nose; not bad, but fairly lackluster.

37.5cl bottle. Hazy reddish brown colour with a nice off-white head. Grain, barnyard, light caramel and spices in the aroma. Fizzy carbonation (the cork pop heavily) and medium body. Taste is more on the sweet side with some earthy and spicy notes. Overall, an interesting beer.

McWorta (1339) - LUXEMBOURG - JUL 14, 2015
Opalescent amber colour with a medium sized frothy off white head. Aromas of barnyard, hay, malts and hints of spice and some backline lingering fruitiness develop. Light lively with a smooth like impression and a medium body. Malty sweetness is a bit too much here with some subtle herbal spice notes too. Medium lasting finish. Lacks the light nuttiness and relies on its yeast to give the right profile.

375 ml cork and caged bottle from Les Vignerons. Huge pop from this one! Dark amber, quite hazy, with a huge, fluffym forever lasting off white head. Tons of strawberry & cream upfront, as close to the actual candy as possible. Slightly funky in a milky/lacto kind of way, slightly peppery and floral, with some more fruity reminiscence in the background. Pleasent malty sweetness upfront, silky and smooth mouthfeel, super mild astringency just before a short but powerful earthy and spicy bitterness. A hint of hazelnuts and candied orange peel in the background. The alchool is extremely well hidden. Average carbonation, medium body, slightly oily texture. Different but tasty.

Amber with a huge and fiizzy white/tan head. Like licking drywall. Bland, but still off. There is the faint shadow of a Belgian-like yeast and tartness, but it’s deep below the overall taste.

nice enough house/table beer, but the price here in the states prevents it from being such a beer. amber malts with light hopping and a present but in the background belgiany yeast. a little dusty.
