3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
37.5 cl corked bottle from Burg Bieren Ermelo. Cork pops out immediatly. Pours dark yellow, golden color, huge head with large bubbles, good lacing. Smells like a good old fashioned Belgian triple, malty, grainy, grassy hops, nicely balanced, but there’s a hint of cork too. Flavor is somewhat sweet, malty, somewhat alcoholic and a starting bitterness. Quite a lot of carbonation. Not much of an aftertaste.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Cork launches immediately like a roket (yet to find it).
Pours with lots of foam, heavy carbonation. Nose is buttery sweet malts and a touch of grass. Palate is much smoother than expected. Not very special.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Nice light straw/ autumn wheat color. Big, wild head that dissipates quickly and leaves a small white cap. Smells of grassy, floral hops, nice subtle, rustic malt body and some herbal vanilla(?) too; very appealing. Taste is just as I’d expect a Blond farmhouse to taste: mild yeast-spice, fresh and crisp malts with a floral/earthy hop finish. Very nice beer. The mouthfeel was unique on this; it felt like the carbonation expanded when the beer touched my tongue, and it filled my palate with a full foaminess; not prickly, but just foamy. It was great and very unique.

The beer has a perfect body and is a little hazy. Enough information on the label. Nice beer.

7/09/2011 37.5cl bottle @ home - BB: 2/12 (2011-437)
Cloudy orange beer, creamy towering head, pretty stable, adhesive with nice lacing in the glass. Aroma: sweet candi sugar, citric hops, spices, cloves, some liquorice. MF: soft carbon, medium body. Taste: spices, liquorice, citrus fruits, some spices, candi sugar. Aftertaste: liquorice, some hops, citrus touches. Note: had this beer the first time at ZBF 2010, it was the revelation of the festival to me. After one year and a half of intensive beer tasting, it has become less impressive, but still very good.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle, corked with a top that blew as soon as the cage was untwisted. Poured all head at first, finally settling down into a hazy deep golden with massive chunks and a head that was two inches inside the glass and towering two inches above the glass. Nose of grassy hops, lightly funky yeast, sourdough bread, and chamomile. Taste adds a bit of sweetness. Despite the huge carbonation, it settled into a soft palate.
