Bottle. Thick yeasty aroma, with sweet floral and peach notes. Dusty yellow with a half-inch head. Mild sweet initial flavors, mild mid, and a thin bitter aftertaste. Medium body, a bit thick for the style. Pleasant enough.
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20 italarican (1053) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - MAY 18, 2010
Bottle from Peter’s RBSG courtesy of Brian from 12% imports. This bottle gave a really nice cork pop without the gusher. Bright yellow-orange pour. Aroma has excessively sweet qualities: lots of bubblegum phenols, yeast, and brown sugar. Flavor is yeast. brown sugar, and raspberry blow-pop. Wow, tons of carbonation. Sharp on the tongue but by no means offensive; more of a wake up call.
3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 PotjeBier (1019) - Amsterdam, NETHERLANDS - SEP 22, 2011
37.5 cl corked bottle from Burg Bieren Ermelo. Cork pops out immediatly. Pours dark yellow, golden color, huge head with large bubbles, good lacing. Smells like a good old fashioned Belgian triple, malty, grainy, grassy hops, nicely balanced, but there’s a hint of cork too. Flavor is somewhat sweet, malty, somewhat alcoholic and a starting bitterness. Quite a lot of carbonation. Not much of an aftertaste.
3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Slayer85 (989) - Firenze, ITALY - NOV 22, 2010
375 ml corked bottle. A hazy dark blonde beer, with a large, frothy, mostly lasting white head. The aroma is lightly to moderately malty, lightly to moderately hoppy, lightly to moderately yeasty. There are notes of toasted grain, cookies, flowers, lemon, earth, pepper, with perhaps a hint of pineapple. The flavour is moderately sweet, lightly to moderately sour, lightly bitter. Medium body, velvety/slick texture, lively carbonation, long finish with medium bitterness, lightly alcoholic. Very good, harmonic, balanced and refreshing. Well hidden alcohol. I will try the amber soon.

After the beer was served in the glass there was found a lasting quantity not wall adhesive light brown foam collar which was fine and evenly of structure. The beer also contained no carbonic acid in the glass.
The beer has a flaky thick pale color and a sweet taste. The after tast of the beer is hoppybitter with a citrus touch. This beer smells fruity.
3.9 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 VT (872) - Quebec City, Quebec, CANADA - FEB 19, 2013
375 ml shared with czar. Thanks, mate! Pours a very cloudy orange with a short lasting white head. Smell is brettanomyces yeast, aged, dusty, fruity (tropical). Flavor is oranges, citrus, tropical fruits (especially mango). A touch of citrus bitterness in the finish, along with raspberry tartness. Sympathetic! Lots of dusty, old barn taste. Medium body, soft mouthfeel. Excellent!
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Swaroga (797) - Brussels, BELGIUM - NOV 17, 2012
375ml bottle. Hazy orange/brown with medium, white head. Nose : fruity apple and peach. Some pear in it too. Tart and some spices. Sip : Good carbonation, Low to medium body with creamy texture. Sweet beer with fruity flavors of pear and cherry. It does get a bit sour. Tarty and estery feeling is prominent and the aftertaste is more sour and dry then bitter. It is easy to drink and lift typical belgian brew. Good.

Bevuta alla spina, ho trovato questa saison davvero ottima, con un bel colore dorato. aroma agrumato e un bel tocco in bocca dove lascia un palato pulito e appagato. Buona.

37,5cl bottle. Hazy blond beer. Overcarbonated. You need some patience before the foam decreases a bit. Some yeast particles dancing in the glass. Yeasty aroma, some citrus, orange peels, fresh grass. Fruity taste, old banana, yeast. Medium bodied. Some notes of oxidation.

Number 400! Had to pick a beer with a good story for this milestone. The only reason I enjoyed this beer, was that a bonehead bartender at Tria in Philadelphia served me the wrong beer. Not sure what the guy’s issue was, but I ordered something totally different, and he brought this beer, along with the worst pour I have ever experienced - 1/4 inch of beer at the bottom of the glass, and foam the entire rest of the way up. I had to order another beer to kill time while waiting for this one to settle! The occasion was Pete’s bac\helor party, and Armed and I had a good laugh over the serving debacle. The funniest part is that I absolutely loved the beer - very similar to Tripel Karmeliet in taste and texture. I will definitely enjoy this one again and will always remember the funny situation that brought me and the beer together.
