3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 JorisPPattyn (6729) - Antwerpen, - OCT 23, 2011
Small, white rim over hazy orange beer. Grassy, vegetable-bitterish nose, with greenmalt, and indeed, flowers - but if it is dogrose is not recognizable. Perfumy flavour, but also human sweat, old peanuts, fatty acids. Very slick, buttery texture. I would have expected flavours as from rosewater, but what I get is butter in aging stock.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 Martinus (873) - Nijmegen, NETHERLANDS - MAY 9, 2012
Hazy pale yellow colour, white head. Aroma of malts, light sour touch, sweets (zuurtjes) and yeast. Somewhat sweet flavour, malts, light wheat sour touch. Fruity floral finish.
Somewhat older sample (as it was already the end of April), which seems to have diminished the rose aromas to just a floral note in the finish. But it’s still a nice beer.
(Draught @ ZBF ’12. As Winter 12, obviously)

Tap at CK. pours hazier light orange with no head formation. Ring of white bubbles. Sweet orange candies with sharp herbal perfume moving sadly to intense acetone/ nail polish remover. Thinner mouthfeel with lots of rose water and Turkish delight herbals. Very thin mouthfeel.
