2 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 Countbeer (2856) - Best of Eindhoven ohne Brauhaus, NETHERLANDS - MAR 17, 2013
Bottle:
Medium to bigger sized and slowly changing ashy creamy foamy head on top of a hazy orange colored beer.
Aromas of steel, cardboard, glue sharper and garsher grains, alcohol, yeast, sharper herbs and hops, some clay, hints of flowers and citrus. Rather bad aroma if you ask me.
Taste is sharper hops, sharper grains, some citrus and sharper herbs, bitter, floral, sharper floral, nasty with a sharp and not well balanced annoying bitterness.
Aftertaste is graiy, malty, floral, bitter... Not deel or strong but I guess this is the best part of the beer.
Low to medium carbo, soft creamy mouthfeel, medium sharper body and a light creamy texture.
I let it breath for a while, but it made no difference: this is a bad beer, sharp, unbalanced and nasty. I really wonder why the hell they thought this beer was good enough to invade the beermarket with. A true dissapointment!
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Wim (2331) - Weelde, BELGIUM - MAR 17, 2013

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 thegreenrooster (2807) - St.louis, Missouri, USA - MAR 10, 2013
Pour is a cloudy maize with a small white head. Aroma is a decent Belgain yeast with some pepper and clove. Flavor is more pepper with a bit of spice and corriander. Finish is bone dry. Would have been a great saison but not for the dryness at the end. Still good and a nice bargen bin pick up.
2.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 slnr (7) - - MAR 1, 2013 does not count
Wet hopped ale, very neutral taste, smooth and slightly hoppy. Not bad, but there are better alternatives
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 Strykzone (3816) - Wood River, Illinois, USA - FEB 17, 2013
Corked and caged 12.7 ounce bottle. A big head dominates the pour and fades way too slowly. It is off white and fluffy and it leaves sticky lacing. Lots of yeast makes this full of solids and haze. It id mid brown and somewhere between opaque and effervescent. I smell saison yeast with the expected malts and sugar. Nutmeg, too. That is exactly what I taste. Hops are much softer than hoped and are noted only slightly more than a typical saison. However, they are mildly bitter and bring a different fruit aspect. This is a pretty decent beer and the ABV is not noticed at all.
3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 TheBeerGod (4640) - Newport News, Virginia, USA - FEB 15, 2013
Bottle - 375mL corked and caged. Cloudy amber pour with a tall, fluffy white head. Aroma is sweet malt, candied fruit, banana, dried flowers, yeast and straw. Taste is semi-sweet with malt notes toasted grains, funky yeast, earthy hops, floral notes, ripe fruits, straw and bread notes. Body is light-medium with a strong, bubbly, prickly carbonation. Ends with more sweet malt, wheat notes, floral notes, earthy hops, banana, ripe fruits, straw and yeast notes.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 thomas15 (521) - USA - FEB 3, 2013
Aroma is funky and slightly gueuze like. Color is an ugly green gold. With light beige head. Aroma is also that of dampness and acidicity.... Taste is sweet malty with some funk.
2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 MoritzF (7756) - Bochum, GERMANY - JAN 31, 2013
(bottle, 37.5cl, Winter 13, 8.0% abv) Hazy, light-amber colour with a blond medium-sized foamy head. Yeasty and mildly wheaty, rye(?)-malty aroma with notes of ripe fruits, bubblegum and hints of vegetables. Moderately sweet and slightly bitter flavour, medium bodied at most, almost sparkling carbonation. Yeasty, wheaty, malty and mildly fruity taste with slightly spicy hoppy notes; sweet-bitter, moderately herbal-spicy hoppy finish with spots of speciality grains in the aftertaste. Not overly convincing. 18.I.13
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Martinus (1795) - Nijmegen, NETHERLANDS - JAN 24, 2013
Hazy golden colour, white head. Aroma of bubblegum, candy, sweets, esters and light fusel oils. Sweet flavour, lots yeasty esters. Finish banana, malts, candy and yeast.
Not my favourite of the HtD beers.
