375 c&c - probably from Bine and Vine. Supercharged. Cork hit a 12’ ceiling. Pours hazy orange with a good creamy white head. It has an oddly farmhouse aroma. Med body. flavor is herby and very earthy. Has a light pepper spice in the earthy finish.

Bottle shared by bhensonb. After the cork bounced off the ceiling, the beer settled down and poured golden with a huge off-white head and an herbal aroma. There is a sweet earthy pale malt flavor with a large dose of peppery endive at the finish. Interesting and very drinkable.

Super hazy golden coloured body with a thick, three centimetre tall off-white head - nice! Aroma of pale malt, wheat, coriander seed, curacao, hay, grass, yeast and some unfinished sugars. Medium-bodied; Assertive malty flavour with a ton of yeast, some coriander seed, cloves and a touch of grass. Aftertaste is quite long lasting, very strong and bitter, with the wheat, yeast and alcohol dominating most of it, but finishing off surprisingly sweet. Overall, a very nice beer and one well worth sampling if you can find it. Mine was labelled ’Winter 11’ with a blue top. I sampled this 37.5cL ’split’ bottle purchased from West Lakeview Liqours in Chicago, Illinois on 03-December-2011 for US$6.99 sampled at home in Washington after Chelsea won the Champions’ League Final in Munchen on 19-May-2012.

37,5cl Tasting with Wim and Yves. Hazy golden blond coloured beer with some very light carbonation and a short white head. Light herby and shor veggy hinted aroma with the witloof aroma comming forward. Full palate. Finish is slightly bitter and light herby touched. Not bad.

Watch yourself... cork is under pressure ! Not quite as much as some of hof tens others but aim away from face. Pours a slightly chunky amber orange with big fluffy head. Aromas are all over the place; raisins, burnt cookies, meatballs, moldy hay, funky but intriguing... flavors are solid and earthy with a malty sweetness balanced with the chicory bitterness.

UPDATED: MAY 6, 2012 @ ZBF 2012. Hazy goldblond coloured beer with small white head and no carbonation visible. Strong herby spiced aroma (coocked vegtables like). Full sparkling palate. Finish is rather spicy bitter ending rather dry with sweet hints.

Botella de 375ml. Copa Túlipa. Color oro palido. Nublada. 375ml Bottle. Tulip glass. Pale golden color. Cloudy. White crown with fairly well retention. Lacing spots. Bready, floral notes, strawberry hints to the nose. Crisp ufront then spicy sweet malt flavors. Low bitterness. Subtle buttery sensation in the middle. Medium body, medium carbonation. Dry malty ,quite bitter, finish. ABV is well hidden & sourness is not found. Drinkability is a little fat. Refreshing when served at a low temperature.

375ml. Burnished with a huge, collapsing, speckling head. Beautiful soft, gelatinous aroma with peppered marmalade and orange wine gums, malted milk biscuit. Fresh and zesty with a souring edge of yeast; some rooty, white fleshed spiciness (horseradish), the burn and pepper of booze, rusk-like malt and marmalade hops right through it. Tasty, conditioned, typically enigmatic Belgian stuff. Reminds me of De Garre Tripel- some real power, orange liqueur heat and pepperiness on display here. Side order of heartburn. Great stuff. And judging by the distinctive, tanging, peppery flavour witloof is an ingredient in more Belgian beers than I realised.
