Cask (handpump) at The Red Lion, Weymouth, Dorset. A fortuitously timed arrival in Weymouth meant that I caught the last of this Spring seasonal from Dorset Brewing Company and the first of the new Chesil Summer seasonal on the same day. This is a pretty solid beer, but doesn’t generate too much excitement. Mid brown colour. Soft and distinctly fruity, with some very light citrus notes on the nose. A fair amount of residual sweetness and, whilst there is some gentle hop character, I’d hardly describe it as zesty. Could use a bit more bite. As this was the last of the batch I suppose it may have been getting a bit tired.

Cask conditioned at The Wellington, Birmingham. Amber with no head. Light fruity bitter, peachy, apricot, tarty fruitiness, thinnish body, perhaps a little on the thin side. Just about average.

Cask gravity at The Hop Pole, Easter Beer Festival, Aylesbury, Bucks in the company of Loz, Chris O and Ruth 10-04-09 Pours clear light amber with next to no head and just a light film of white bubbles on top. This is easy drinking if a little sweet at times, some thin toffee flavours with a tingly bitterness. A6 A3 F6 P3 OV11 2.9

Too bitter for me, but with some sweet features. Somewhat floral, Really nice.
