Cask at the Magpie & Crown. Lovely stuff - dark and roasty on the nose, an initial plummy sweetness turning slightly tart in the body as hints of dark chocolate come through, then a great roast malt/burnt bitterness finish. What a good porter should be.

Pint at Hobgoblin in Reading. Black beer with essentially no head. Pleasant roasted and rich flavour, just right. Subtle and mild, a little bit smokey. Mild Chocolatey aroma. In the end its a little too mild, but I enjoyed it. A bit watery rather than rich though.

Bottle conditioned, 500ml from Phoenix Wines, Swanage, Dorset. Dark brown with a sliver of head. Malty fruity strongish mild rather than a Porter in my opinion, sweetish, plummy, a slight chocolate note. Not the most exciting beer really.
