Slightly mashy graininess, quite fruity. A little sticky, but also smooth. Carbonation low. Grainy and mashy, a bit stodgy and porridgy. Just about adequate as a bitter.

Cask at the Lord Wimborne (JDW) Poole; amber with a thin yet dense white head; this had a very offputting aroma of cleaning products, very probably because Wetherspoon’s dishwasher wasn’t working properly; reminder to self: when in the High Street always go to the Brewhouse or Blue Boar, as Poole’s shabby Wetherspoons is a false economy; thankfully the taste wasn’t similarly destroyed (if I held my nose): sweet malts and fruit (bitter lemon and orange) with a bitter hop bite; very dry; quite a thick mouthfeel; like a thicker version of their Jurassic; not a write-off, but unfortunately this beer was more than likely ruined by the pub that served it - I’ll have to give it another try some time in the interest of fairness.
