Dos Equis Amber is a rich, full-bodied Mexican import with a reddish-gold color and is made from the finest ingredients, representing the brand’s traditional Mexican heritage. The history of Dos Equis Amber is traced to the development of the popular Oktoberfest-style of Vienna lager originally created during the mid-19th century.

The only reason I drink this is when I am on thos rare occasion when I find myself at a mexican resaurant and it is better than Corona.

UPDATED: FEB 27, 2003 The only reason to drink this is if the only other beer available is something truly god-awful like Corona. On tap, it had a very nice thick head initially that faded all too fast. Thin and slightly metallic.

A very good beer when its ether a beer or cold water. Not enough malt but what little there is is good. Hops are only a rumor.

Weak example of a Vienna lager. Has the same soapy taste of Sam Adams. Color is beautiful but palate is watery and flavor has only the slightest hint of malt.

Not a good example of good Mexican beer. It's carbonation is biting. It has a soapy mouth feel as well as tast.

Well I wouldn't really call this one amber style. It has a bit more taste than their special but not much

This is a very attractive beer as far as color, but it lacks the aroma and taste to be better. Personally I like the XX Special (green bottle) better. Like most of the Mexican beers, it tastes great with lime.

UPDATED: FEB 15, 2005 Jan, 2003:After Billy had unwrapped the brown paper parcel he decided to lay down for a nap. It rained a lot that day and water began seeping through a familiar spot in the ceiling where Billy had once swatted a fly. Billy snuggled deeper in his hessian blanket and dreamed of rabbits fighting pirates on the high seas. His only problem was that the brown stain on his very thin underpants would reveal his cowardice. [2.9]
Nov, 2004: Pleasant glowing hazlenut colour. Pleasantly musty malt aroma with hints of banana and raisin. A slight cardboard flavour (BBE is 8 months away). Modest vanishing mouthfeel. A touch of spice in the finish. I like the Vienna style, but this is a little flat and uninspired. [2.5]
Feb, 2005: Drinkable lager with some extra caramel flavour. [2.6]

I’m sorry, Bebop, but I think shittiest has ’tt’s. Can we petition Femsa to change the ’XX’ to ’TT’ to better represent their product? The extra points go to it for being Mexican which is a handicap in itself...
