COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Dos Equis Amber is a rich, full-bodied Mexican import with a reddish-gold color and is made from the finest ingredients, representing the brand’s traditional Mexican heritage. The history of Dos Equis Amber is traced to the development of the popular Oktoberfest-style of Vienna lager originally created during the mid-19th century.

A good drink when it is hot outside. Not a very good beer though. It does not have a stronge taste (like the commercial description says). Still better than Corona.

in spite of the previous taster’s uni-lateral prohibition on bottle-rating, i’m going ahead ’cause the draft wasn’t available, and hey, it’s what i do. clear amber not surprisingly. cirrus like wisps of residual head. not much chance of detecting any subtleties of aroma since i’m sitting in the smoking section of a restaurante mexicano, but i reckon i’ve had this beer about 2.6 million times before and i know that even in the absence of cigarettes and chimichangas, there ain’t much to smell in there anyway. some bread, a breath of carmel, i think i dropped a peice of my chile rellenos in there which seems to help. overall, refreshing, thin bodied, quite boring. like the proverbial hot dog tasting better around a campfire, this tastes better when consumed under the stars somewhere on the baja penninsula.

As a favor to a friend, I sat in and took notes in a college class he had to miss one day, and to sweeten the offer he gave me two bottles of Dos Equis XX before hand. I remember the history of Henry VIII and the Reformation being much nicer with two bottles under my belt.

Luckily they got a German brewmaster on the job to hook this beer up. So good off the tap, you’ll forget about that spring break you drank nothing but Corona.

Better than Corona. Of course that isn’t saying much. Good to put out fajita fires.

This is one of my favorite beers. I live in a small town in Louisiana, so there isn’t much available to me.

Looks darker than it tastes, but still above average, refreshing, and an at least detectable malt level. Throw a couple of bottles of this or Negra Modelo into a bean soup. Also, this is one beer I will (and often do) drink at room temp -- and I’m in South Louisiana, where room temp is seldom below 70.

Pretty good beer, comes close to Bohemia, and certainly better than the Special.
