3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
I like this beer. It is very well balanced and goes with almost any food or occasion. Not the worlds greatest, but certainly worth drinking.

well I don’t remember this beer tasting skunky, but it is today. I’d like to rate it again, but don’t know if it’s worth the money.

This is a pretty good beer in bottles, but a KILLER beer on draft! I can think of no other beer that is so profoundly different between the two sources.
As always, (in my opinion) skip the lime. Compared to the Corona quasi-beer, it’s a whole different animal, even in the bottled form. RE-RATE BEGINS HERE:
I actually should clarify my comments with the numerical rating: In bottles, this is about 2.9 On draft, it’s 4.0

Here in Michigan, if you order a Dos Equis on tap, this is what you get. Buy Dos Equis in Mexico, or at the party store, and they give you something else. This is good stuff, very enjoyable and goes well with a Mexican dinner at Don Pablo’s, Chi Chi’s or Tucson Jack’s in Bay City.

1.9 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
Much better than Corona -- the other Mexican standard -- but still not a great beer. Its flavor is more pleasant than most of the American big boys -- it does, after all, have some flavor. It’s light and non-threatening with just a hint of a bite and a palate that lingers just a bit too long and seems just a bit too pungent.

2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
UPDATED: AUG 7, 2007 Bottle. Head is initially small, fizzy, off-white, mostly diminishing. Body is clear medium to dark amber. Aroma is lightly malty (grain, caramel), with light notes of apple, metal shavings, and chemicals. Flavor is lightly to moderately sweet, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, lightly to moderately bitter, slightly unclean. Light to medium body, watery texture, fizzy carbonation. Not a very clean rendition.

Mild molasses flavors make this somewhat worthwhile, though Negra Modelo still rules the roost of Mexican beers.
