Dos Equis Amber is a rich, full-bodied Mexican import with a reddish-gold color and is made from the finest ingredients, representing the brand’s traditional Mexican heritage. The history of Dos Equis Amber is traced to the development of the popular Oktoberfest-style of Vienna lager originally created during the mid-19th century.

A very decent Mexican brew - but as with all, its crisp and very light - more for thirst quenching than really a sipping and enjoying type beer. Works well with spicey foods due to its light taste and palate.

Faint, sourish aroma. Opens sour and overly yeasty. The middle is malty with an alcohol tang. Finishes with lingering motor-oil aroma.

This tastes like a real beer to me while the other lighter XX beers do not. Not as good as the Negro Modelo, by virtue of it not having much bite to it. For such a huge brewery, this is not a bad beer at all.

Hop and metallic aroma. Neither a good nor an interesting beer.

Always a great beer to enjoy after a long day at work...with a little lime of course.

Okay, this is a beer that I will have at one of my mexican hangouts. While I usually opt for Negro, this is the one I will pick over Corona. It arrives as a light copper color with a good head. It’s hard to judge a lace as it was served quite cold. A nice hops taste when compared to other mexican beers of this style. Light taste, but indicative of style. I would order this over Corona if you don’t want a Negro style.

I barely remember the first time I had one, I do remember spilling this on a hot girl in Matamoras, Mexico and her letting me lick it off her arm! So naturally when I got back home I tried another and have always had fond memories.

Typical Mexican beer flavor but a little better than most. Nothing exciting enough to buy on a regular basis... needs lemon, probably because the water used for brewing doesn’t taste so great.
