3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Much better than the Special Lager. It combines some of the good feature of the american lager to the mexican taste.

Great after a run! It is a bit darker than most an advantage in my opinion.

1.4 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 6/20
A weak malty fruity aroma, followed by watery, cardboard tasting swill. Color was a weird unnatural brown/amber - which looked like it came from food coloring. I’d rather have a Negro Modelo if Mexican is the choice.

1.3 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 5/20
A bit darker than the average macro or Mexican beer, but that doesn’t make it better. Still tastes like watery crap.

very watery and not much flavor. Some people like this type of beer, but i prefer something that has a taste to it.

1 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 3/20
UPDATED: APR 22, 2009 I’ll leave my original rating intact for no reason, but this one has been due a rerate for a long time, and that time has finally come. I recall the sentimental reasons I gave this a 2.5, and not only has that sentiment been long lost, but so is the desire to keep the numbers up on this one. Pours an iced tea brownish amber, minimal fake looking head. Nose rife with corn and perhaps a vegetal note. Flavor also vegetal corny (DMS), a bit like corn flakes soaked in cheap lager. Very sup-par. Original rate: A cleaner version of their main light lager. Somewhat sweeter with less pronounced hop bitterness. Overall nothing much - still a bit on the light side. A few bonus points for being a sentimental favorite.

2.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
UPDATED: OCT 23, 2004 Lively pour, a reddish amber body, fairly clear and light for style. The nose is light and clean, slight signs of fruitiness and a good mix of malt and piney hops, while the most distinctive part is a peppery spiciness. Palate is pretty light, not too heavy on carbonation, fairly smooth and easy drinking. Taste starts out fairly clean with a little fruitiness while there’s an underlying graininess throughout. Fairly light and watery, with a slight metallic taste.
