Dos Equis Amber is a rich, full-bodied Mexican import with a reddish-gold color and is made from the finest ingredients, representing the brand’s traditional Mexican heritage. The history of Dos Equis Amber is traced to the development of the popular Oktoberfest-style of Vienna lager originally created during the mid-19th century.

Bottle. Thanks Pops. Pours amber with a creamy head. Malty caramel and bread. A bit of dried fruit. Medium bodied. Good malty. Surprisingly decent.

Poured from 12oz bottle into pint glass. Appearance: pours a 1" off white head that drops quickly with very minimal lacing. Color is a clear, deep amber with some moderate streaming carbonation. Aroma: very mild -- a bit of corn, a hint of caramel Mouthfeel: light, quite frothy, with a easy dry finish. Flavor: nice combination of caramel, a bit of nuttiness, whole wheat bread, with a small hop bitterness in the back end. Overall: very pleasant, easy drinking. Pairs terrifically with spicy Mexican cuisine.

I wouldn’t order this in a tavern setting or open a bottle just to have it, but I want to echo what I’ve read in other reviews in that this only really seems to be at its best as a dinner drink, especially with Mexican food. It really is a go-to for me in that setting if they have it. Otherwise nothing really special. Excellent with dinner though.

Very simple and light lager. Light malt flavor and a very clean finish. Lighter than a typical Amber beer.

355ml bottle (dated 09/07/2012) served in a weizen glass around 4 degrees: This one poured a clear copper holding light carbonation, topped off by a timid and rough beige head which didn’t last very long and dropped to a nice porous layer. I would say retention was moderate and that the head left some micro lacing here and there on the glass. The nose was fresh and moderately aromatic. It gave out notes of roasted malts, brown sugar and grassy/herbal hops. On the tongue, this dark lager first hits you with sweet and toasted cereals from the malts. Brown sugar comes throught a lot, but the grassy hops give it a medium bitterness which balances out the sweetness nicely. I found it had a nice structured feel with a good crisp leading to a very dry finish. Overall this won’t be the best Amber Lager I will ever try, but it still has nice elements worth pointing out such as its mouthfeel and balance.

From a bottle at a Mexican restaurant in Holly Springs North Carolina. I know this beer does not rate very highly but I would say when paired with Mexican food it is just fine.

Does not smell good. Yeast sourness with no complexity. Looks decent but tastes watery and weak. The palate matches the taste. I haven't had this in a long time; I remembered it more fondly than this. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Tasted on 11/30/14 from a capped 12oz bottle purchased in a mixed sixer at the grocery store. Pours clear dark amber with a very thick off-white head that slowly recedes to thick, messy lace. The nose is dark corny malt with just a touch of molasses, and a bit of grassy green hops. The flavor is, once again, on the darker side of caramel corn malt, and the same hint of grassy green. The body is light with fizzy, soda carbonation and a short, dark corn malt.

Meget kedelig øl, ikke meget smag. Havde forventet mere smag og fylde. Kan ikke anbefales. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. Pours amber with a medium white head. The aroma is caramel, malt and light hops. Some cardboard, malt and caramel in flavor. Meh
