2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 7/20 after4ever (4500) - Brier, Washington, USA - SEP 15, 2009
12-oz. Pours a crystal clear dark amber with a loose scattering of tannish film across the top. Sweaty nose with bits of black pepper in there. Creamy lightish body. Some toasted malt, some doughy malt on the mid-palate. Nothing on the finish to keep them company. Now I know why they want you to stay thirsty, my friends--they’d feel bad if you weren’t in the mood to go drink something else after one of these.

Like the Special Lager, but a little darker, a little sweeter, and little more roasted.

12 oz bottle served in a clear pint glass. Pours is a rusty brown with 2 fingers of white head. Nose is malt, sugar, and light caramel. Taste is a little bland, kinda sweet. Not terrible actually, kinda of surprised. I could drink a few of these and not have bitter beer face.
2.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 mkel07 (1809) - Brisbane, AUSTRALIA - AUG 29, 2009
355ml bottle. Coppery brown colour with a modest white ehad and good carbonation. Blandness to the aroma, some smoky notes coming through. Bitter burnt flavour and not very pleasant.
2.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 CUJO (383) - Brooklyn, New York, USA - AUG 29, 2009
bottle: pint glass: actually not so terrible... pours a dark copper leaving a thick head ring. Nose is all malts, some metallic... the taste is again malts, roasted and sweet... seems to be a decent amount of sugars in here. Easily drinkable although I don’t know how many I could actually throw back.

UPDATED: SEP 26, 2009 Bottle. 4.7%. Clear amber pour with a fair white head, decent retention. Aroma is very sweet, malty. Taste is caramel, roasted almonds, and sweet malts, finish is very dry and grainy. Mouthfeel is quite good. I quite enjoyed this.

Amber colored pour with a decent sized head. Aroma of malts. Flavor is nutty and not bad, just a little watered down.
2.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 lowg (141) - Scarborough, Ontario, CANADA - AUG 20, 2009
330ml bottle. Pours dark amber with soapy head. Caramel aroma, initial taste is also caramel with a wee bit of a roasted nutty taste to it. Finish is somewhat watery just like the Dos Equis Lager which I had previous to this. Better than the lager but still a little below average.
2.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 UriahHeep (105) - Georgia, USA - AUG 18, 2009
Pour is dark copperish with red hues and a minimal head formation. Aroma is faintly grassy and malty. Taste is medium-bodied with a biscuit malt sweetness and subtle caramel balance. Hard to detect the hops in this brew which is never a good sign. Finishes with little to no fanfare and with a mildly skunky bite, similar to a George Killian’s. And it’s Ambar*, not Amber.
1.5 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20 wimpie133 (380) - Brugge, BELGIUM - AUG 17, 2009
Bottle, amber coloured beer with a white head on it. The smell is light sweet, yeasty and light grainy, but is very weak and too light. It has a better taste than the XX Lager Beer, but is not very well balanced with a shell-fruitedf, sweet amber taste, light grainy and without finish.
