9/22/2007: Dos Equis Amber has an encouraging amber color, but it is lacking in aroma and flavor. There is nothing too exciting to write about this beer. It has a slightly sweet, malty flavor with a touch of toast. I actually think that the regular <a href=http://www.ratebeer.com/Beer/dos-equis-xx-spe Equis Special Lager has slightly more character although the Amber might a a bit more smooth...
12 fl. oz. bottle at friend’s house during the 3rd Annual Poker Party. Thanks Ryan! Rating #877 for this beer...

12oz bottle. Aroma weak, appearance was ok, flavor was weak but there was a slight macro malty spice. Palate was watery and lively. I’d never buy one.

Very good beer, much nicer taste than Corona in my opinion. Doesn’t need lime, and tastes very good without it.

Bottle. Poured well, small head, nice reddish hue. Thankfully wasn’t ice cold - telling. Really adds to a meal.

UPDATED: DEC 2, 2007 Not a bad brew... drinkable, but too expensive for what you get. Maybe would order it at a Mexican restaurant...

UPDATED: NOV 11, 2007 I really enjoy this beer... being from Texas, Mexican beers are pretty common and this is among my favorites. Great with a lime, but it isn’t necessary like it is for many Mexican beers. True story: I was once in Mexico, and one of the locals was talking about beer and that they don’t drink Corona in Mexico, they send it all to the US and they drink Dos Equis.
My favorite beer to drink at a Mexican restaurant.
12 oz. bottle, on tap.

330ml bottle. Better than the standard Mexican pale lagers we get in the UK. Muddy brown rather than amber; some malty flavour; sweet and bland but not offensive.

a solid alternative to that Corona crap. Nothing to write home about but clean and a refreshing drink.

The best of the Mexican widely available beers, but not much of a beer to be honest. On draught at Surf Taco during my Long Beach Trip, did a good job of washing down some fish tacos.
