3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20 Finhead (654) - OFallon, Illinois, USA - MAY 18, 2010
An amber-brown (tea like) pour with white head. The aroma is very mild with some bready malt coming through. The taste is soft, almost flat, with medium sweetness and a clean finish.
1.6 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 2/20 Tricountybeer (132) - Dillsburg, Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 15, 2010
Clear light amber color with a light fluffy head. Light malt aroma. Light malt flavor with only a touch of bitterness. Somewhat thin in palate. A decent mild vienna.
2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20 Blake (396) - Orange, California, USA - MAY 13, 2010
Had from 12 oz. bottle. Pours amber / brown with slight white head and no lacing. Heavily carbonated, lacking in flavor. Aroma f just roasted malts and grains. Flavor is bland, watery, and boring. Nothing special. A step up from the fizzy yellow crap that comes out of Mexico, but not a big step.
2.4 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 vikingguy (456) - Chaska, Minnesota, USA - MAY 12, 2010
Pours amber with thin white head. Aroma of caramel malt and some skunky hops. Taste is corn, caramel, hard water and some funk that you only get with Mexican beer. With that said, I happen to like this. A good everyday drinking beer. Refreshing yet some malt backbone.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 LetsGoState (310) - Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 10, 2010
UPDATED: JUL 29, 2010 Good taste/aroma. Not very strong, but still pleasant to drink. Definitely better then Lager Especial.
Update: Had this from the tap for a second tasting (above rating was in a bottle). I thought the bottle tasted great, but the tap had an odd taste - maybe grain/chemicals. I’ll give it the benefit of the doubt, but the tap still wasn’t bad.
2.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 DruncanVeasey (4800) - NUNEATON, Conference North, Warwickshire, ENGLAND - MAY 9, 2010
Bottle from Nuneaton Asda. Red with a patchy slick you couldn’t call a head. Arresting aroma of rust, shortcake, glue piped on Battenberg, fruit-flavoured boiled sweets; strange, utterly unlike anything I’ve drank of late, but not 100% unpleasant. Immediate card-like staleness, Disprin, sherbety emptiness, rotting vegetation on the palate. Superior, Mediterranean-style red mess; thin, sugared, industrial...but just about safe from a plugholing.
