The ol standby in college, put down a pitcher of this every thursday. Pours a dark orange brown color with a thin white head. taste is a hint of fruit with a light amount of malt flavor. I usually toss a lime into mine for added flavor. A great summer time beer, don’t listen to the other reviewers, this beer is great!

12 oz. bottle from Hacienda in St. Louis (great Mexican restaurant, strongly recommended). Pours a clear, rich amber color with an inch-thick off-white head. Aroma of caramel malts, corn and other grains, toast, and toffee. Flavor is also malty and sweet, with lots of caramel, toast, and grains. Quick finish and minimal aftertaste of caramel malt. Light-bodied, with average-to-high carbonation. Not horrible, and better than the XX Special Lager, but nothing special. A notch or two extra for the great commercials.

Dark gold, thin off white head. Nose is honey and lemon. Flavor is more of that w a bit if malt. Not much else other thin soda water. Reasonable body.

Bottle. Good crisp dark lager style beer. I enjoyed the crisp taste. Malt and hopp characteristics, including caramel, bitter, and grain. Medium body. Decent pour. Enjoyable, but not a beer I would choose again.

This is my favorite mass produced beer. Pretty amber color. Relatively mild hops flavor for an amber. Slightly sweet.

Bottle @ pre-GBBF shindig, August 2009. Attractive amber colour. Sweetish but pleasant. Mainly malty with pronounced, but not cloying, caramel notes. Some fruit and a lick of sharp hops. Not too fizzy. Better than expected.

Better than most Mexican beers, if that is a nice thing to say about it. 12 oz. bottle to lager glass. Nice clear dark amber color, with weak head--just some spotty lacing. Malt, bread, light caramel, nothing very strong, but it’s there none the less. Lightly sweet, with some quick and weak hop bitter finish, again, nothing that is a statement. Thin and a bit too carbonated for what it has to offer. It is okay, but that is a back handed compliment, at least it doesn’t need a lime to hide the taste.

On tap at the Flying Saucer in KC. Pours a clear, copper-amber colored body with an inch thick, off-white head that dissipates quickly and leaves a light lacing. Aroma is thin and dry with a vague corny, dirty caramel, somewhat toasted breadiness. Flavor is the same with a cardboard maltiness, some bread, and a trace of hop bitterness with no aftertaste. Light bodied, crisp, and moderately carbonated. Overall, a boring, watery "dark" lager. The most interesting man in the world clearly hasn’t experienced more than a Guiness.
