Dos Equis Amber is a rich, full-bodied Mexican import with a reddish-gold color and is made from the finest ingredients, representing the brand’s traditional Mexican heritage. The history of Dos Equis Amber is traced to the development of the popular Oktoberfest-style of Vienna lager originally created during the mid-19th century.

Bottle at Hernandez...old standard...pours a rich amber with mild nose and flavor. Quite a dropoff from usual APA IPA beers....mild flavor goes well with Mexican food which mai n role for this beer.

Bottle at home from Jacobs på Holtet
Deep copper, tanned head. Smells of grass, malts and caramel. Taste is medium malty but too much sweetness. Not balanced. And the finish brings in unpleasent metalic flavors. Yuk. Bitterness of metals is not rock’n roll. Blah.
I have to admit the ticker in me got me to try this beer. I had no American Dark Lager ticked inn yet so tick tick tick

Dark amber colour. Aroma is sweet and malty. Texture is thin and watery. Flavour is heavy on maltose/malt extract. Metallic edge.

Bottle served at Mexican restaurant. Tastes like absolute ass from the bottle, but things improved markedly when poured into a spare glass at the table. Darkish copper pour with quickly dissipating head. Scotchy malt aroma. Positively malty - reminiscent of a mild German bock as it warms - with vanilla and light floral hops. A touch of adjunct off-flavours. Overcarbonating. Could be worse!

Tasted from bottle into standard pint glass. Pours a crystal-clear, light reddish-amber with medium off-white head. Rich malt-sweetness balanced with ambiguous bitterness, likely a combination of roasted grain and hops. Little to no hops aroma. Some aromas/flavors of adjunct sugars, but not overwhelmingly "off." Reasonably dry, crisp, clean lager finish. Not the world’s best beer, but better than most pale lagers, and goes great with spicy Mexican food.

Draft in a large mug - Pours clear and light amber with little white head and some lacing. Aroma is corn, roasted malts and base hops - detectable aromas but nothing fancy. Taste is somewhat sweet and ends on a lightly hoppy note. Refreshing and light bodied. Texture is filmy. Nothing special and forgettable.

Bottle. Tastes like your typical light lager, but with a hint of dark malt. Nice for a hot day.
