GMUcrew7 (145), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA May 10, 2008 Pours nice caramel color, with light beige head. Very sweet aroma, hint of honey. Flavor is not bad just weak, sweet caramel and brown sugar. Body is very light and watery.
Butters (222), Richmond, Virginia, USA Jul 5, 2008 Bottle while on honeymoon in Cancun. When I ordered a Negra Modelo, the waiter brought me this bottle with a paper towel wrapped around it, on which, he had written in crayon "Negra Modelo". So even though it wasn’t what I had expected, I gained another rating. Poured a pale clear amber with good light tan head. Corn and toasted grain. Medium light body with high carbonation. Grainy aftertaste. Not a Negra substitute. JonR888710 (980), Cochabamba, Bolivia Jul 3, 2008 Sampled on draught at Carlos O’Kelley’s restaurant in Fairfax, VA. Pours a fine, clear amber with a medium white head. Aroma has some caramel in it, with dry seltzer water hops, like its brother Dos Equis lager. Works very well with spicy mexican food, beans, chips and the like. Paired with food, this is not a bad choice. But certainly not something a conniseur would drink. Decent beer. azlondon (456), Greater London, England Jul 1, 2008 Appearance: Light, golden brown. Little bit of head.
Aroma: Malt, maybe some caramel and hops. Sweet.
Taste: Some malt and hops. Dry. Nothing special.
Info: 330ml bottle, 23/4-2007 hop_lover (100), Corpus Christi, Texas, USA Jun 27, 2008 Nothing too impressive about this one. Some of my friends realy like it but I dont understand why. I probably wont ever have it again. Changed (52), Ithaca, New York, USA Jun 25, 2008 12 oz straight from the bottle. Cringed as I popped the top off, anticipating the filth that lay before me. Slowly I tipped my head back, drowning my boredom with sip after sip of a poor excuse of a cardboard flavored beer.
Note to my mother’s friends: next time you bring this beer with you for a dinner party, remember to either A. drink it all, or B. take it with you. Thanks
