COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Dos Equis Special Lager is a refreshing, crisp, golden, lager style beer imported from Mexico. Made with roasted malts, choice hops, a unique strain of yeast and purified water, this distinctive brew is known simply as “Lager” in its homeland.

Typical Mexican lager with about three extra kernels of crystal malt to give it a tad more flavor. I would still prefer this over BMC.

Tastes like a carbonated water. Poor quality beer. Absolutely no aroma. Do not be foolish by the tv commercials

UPDATED: NOV 21, 2014 If you’re not drinking this beer ice cold with a lime and with spicy food you’re doing it wrong. Spicy hot links on a bun with fried egg and this beer, yum all around.

Gerbeer (1943) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - NOV 10, 2014
UPDATED: NOV 11, 2014 12 oz bottle. Pours a clear gold with very light head. Aromas of perfume and grain and maybe a bit of lime ’cause it was stuffed in the bottle when served. Flavors of paper, corn and grain. I’ll say it’s better than Corona though; goes well with Habenaros, and served when really cold.

Light and unobjectionable. No discernable taste whatsoever at first blush. A little corn, a little sweet, not much else. Pale piss yellow with little or no head. OK brew for a hot climate

Appearance: a clear yellow-golden color with a medium head. Aroma: smells like corn and grass. Tastes like rice, grass and some other grains. Watery.

Lager. Sweet, metallic aroma. Light yellow. Crisp taste, really no distinctive flavor. Overall OK.

Type: 12-oz. bottle Glass: Manzanita pint glass From: Barons Market in Alpine, Calif. Price: $1.39 Purchased: Oct. 22, 2014 Consumed: Oct. 22, 2014 Misc.: N/A Poured a golden, pale, clear color with a finger of head that dissipated pretty quickly. Lots of streams of bubbles coming up from the bottom of the glass. No lacing on the sides of the glass. No retention on the top. (Sight - 2.50) Smelled honey, caramel, toffee and very light chocolate, a lot more maltier and better than I thought it would. Also grassy malts, light plum and skunky resin notes late. For the style, just a great smell. (Smell - 4.00) Tasted more like I was expecting, which was much worse than the smell. Hardly any flavor. Honey, grass, corn, light metallic, light caramel and watery cereal. (Taste - 2.25) Light body. Thin texture. Average carbonation. Abrupt, watery finish. (Feel - 2.25) I’ve had this many times, but never rated it. The smell was really good for an AAL, but then it all went to hell. I won’t have this again unless I have a gun to my head. Even then I’d have to think about it. (Overall - 2.25) 2.61 62 C-
