COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Dos Equis Special Lager is a refreshing, crisp, golden, lager style beer imported from Mexico. Made with roasted malts, choice hops, a unique strain of yeast and purified water, this distinctive brew is known simply as “Lager” in its homeland.

Very yellow. No Head. Very little flavor, either malt or hops. Not one outstanding quality. Better than American pilsener, worse then Snapple.

Pretty good overall. Aftertaste reminds me of many German ales, but the flavor doesn't come close.

Eh. Tastes like a mexican pilsener style. A bit better than an american macro beer, but not good enough to pay imported price on. Way too much carbonation. Made me burp like crazy. Color is a little too yellowy, like you can tell they used corn. Lose the green bottle.

I didn't like this beer as much as I did some other Mexican beers. Something about it just said "skunky".

Somewhat bland in all respects--I suppose should have added a lime, but a beer should stand on its own.

Head was gone quickly. Little lacing. Decent Carbonation, but a bit watery. What flavor that was there was OK but nothing to pursue again. Though I'd drink it if offered without better choices, I doubt I'd buy it again.

UPDATED: JUL 19, 2003 Orange/straw in color. Pretty decent head. Fizzy carbonation. Light bodied but not the least bit watery. Mild grainy aroma. Refreshing. Mostly clean flavor but with just a touch of a metallic off-note, no big deal. I did the lime thing, too. No better, no worse that way.

Nothing to say about the aroma. A little tinny in the palate. Appearance ding for the green bottle. Screams for a lime. Overall, inoffensive, but I prefer Bohemia.

Bottled: Well, this must be the most boring beer from El Mexico. Light yellow coloured. Nada head. Corn aroma. Watery taste. Shitty beer.

UPDATED: APR 8, 2003 Dry, almost nothing in here. Can't say I find anything good about other than the fact that it doesn't have any horrible off flavors. Much too light.
