COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Dos Equis Special Lager is a refreshing, crisp, golden, lager style beer imported from Mexico. Made with roasted malts, choice hops, a unique strain of yeast and purified water, this distinctive brew is known simply as “Lager” in its homeland.

Somewhat refreshing...The lesser of the evil Mexican beers. If I’m eating Mexican, I’ll drink this. But only then.

What you drink on the road if the liquor store only has major North American brews.

Re-Rate 06/06/02: Clear gold, white head, fair lace. Nose is malt, the front is lightly sweet, the top thin, the finish is dry, acidic, lightly hopped, drinkable.

This beer was a surprise. I’m not really big on the light colored beers. I usually only drink them when the goal is getting drunk. Dos Equis is similar to Corona in flavor color and most of the other factors, but it’s just better tasting. Squeeze in a little lime or not, it’s just a decent beer to drink with a meal, especially if you’re eating mexican.

Some sweetness but pretty bland in the long run.

Very smooth and light beer. Good flavor despite its thinnes. Much better with a lime in it. Better than corona - MUCH better. When I went to Mexico, they said that they keep this beer for themselves and export the corona.

I liked this one better than the regular, but I still wouldn’t drink it again unless bud and corona were my other options and water wasn’t available.

Well, I’m not eating Mexican food but rather very spicy Vietnamese food. This goes along quite well with it. I believe that most of the tropical made beers be they Mexican, Carib or Asian are made as a companion to the local cusine. They certainly aren’t tasty on their own but I will give this one credit, best Mexican brew to date.
