Dos Equis Special Lager is a refreshing, crisp, golden, lager style beer imported from Mexico. Made with roasted malts, choice hops, a unique strain of yeast and purified water, this distinctive brew is known simply as “Lager” in its homeland.

UPDATED: AUG 28, 2014 Malted fizzy water with some grainy notes poking through. Unpleasant, watery and tart aftertaste.

Tap in branded pint glass at Hard Rock in Orlando. Pale yellow in color with minimal head. The type of beer that fits a humid, sunny Florida day. Smell full of grain and generic pale American taste. Easy to drink but only order in desperate situations, Mexico, or Hard Rock in Orlando.

dull lager but fine soft and provides beautiful lace on the glass. Aroma of light citrus and hay.

Bottle. Tasteless and dry. Needs to be ice cold to be palatable. Ok with Mexican food.

Nice lager if ice cold on a hot day. Outside of that.... Not much alcohol and not all too great. Enjoy ice cold.

355 ml green bottle bought at Market Place by Jasons in iSquare, Tsim Sha Tsui.

Piss pale golden color; Near zero head and residual soapy white foam which fades in 5 seconds; Moderate sticky lacing with active, small carbonation; Sweet and dull aroma of light malt, with strong corn syrup, grape juice, chemicals and stale bread; Close to light sweet taste of thin malt, with thinned sugar syrup, soda water, faint wet cardboard, hint of bread, lemon notes and shades of grass; Light body, watery palate; Mouth feel is Mexcian version of Happoshu - near water taste with faint notes of malt and syrup, bread and hop notes are just teasing. Damn you!... Hoppiness is no aroma, faint notes of lemon and grass in taste. Bitterness is barely detectable. Just water finish; Wet after taste. Very easy and sweet water-like to mouth.

Comments: A belated Mexican tick, and I wish I would delay it forever. It’s easy to see why: Underneath the super-sweet and chemical nose is a cross between a low-alcohol light beer (i.e., less than 2% abv) and a clean and tasteless Happoshu. Unbelievable. This one is gathering dust on the store shell for a long time and very few locals know what this is or bother to touch them. I applaud their indifference. Drain pours!

Bottle to a pint on Med cruise 2014. Light gold with white head. Mild flavors of hop and malt. Mexican macro lager... Nothing special.

On draft at an chili´s in Braintree, MA. Watery in the glass, no head, a lot of CO2 pearls are fast growing up. Nothing on the nose. Very low malt, low bitterness, maybe low grainy, rice? Boring, never more.
