Dos Equis Special Lager is a refreshing, crisp, golden, lager style beer imported from Mexico. Made with roasted malts, choice hops, a unique strain of yeast and purified water, this distinctive brew is known simply as “Lager” in its homeland.

Not so bad when faced with other maco choices I guess. I prefer the amber to the pale lager though.

Pale golden color with a white head. Not much aroma. Light grainy. Some sweetness and moderate bitterness. Mild grainy and herbal flavor.

When the hot weather comes and you want something to take your thirsty a Tecate serves you ok. Not much flavour but a nice beer to drink along.

Bottle, 0.33l. Clear pale golden color with medium frothy white head and sparkling appearance. Aroma is grainy, bready, grassy and a bit skunky. Taste starts moderate sweet malty, follows by grassy sourness with crisp and dry mouthfeel and mild bitter finish. Light body, thin texture and lively carbonation in palate. Typical pale lager, a bit on a sweeter side...

Pours a clear straw with coarse carbonation and topped by a finger or so of off-white fizzy head showing minimal retention. The nose is grainy and grassy with a little more kick than the Tecate, another Mexican pale lager. The taste is more malty with a more perceptible grainy features backed by subtle grassy hops. Finish is smooth but a bit skunky. Cheers!

From a bottle. Quite malty with smooth finish, not overly bitter, better than expected.

Pours straw yellow with a bit of foam and very little aroma. Has a bit of a skunky taste mixed with caramel. It’s nothing special nor memorable.
