Dos Equis Special Lager is a refreshing, crisp, golden, lager style beer imported from Mexico. Made with roasted malts, choice hops, a unique strain of yeast and purified water, this distinctive brew is known simply as “Lager” in its homeland.

Where is the hops? Appearance is light yellow. Head is minimal. The taste is very light almost like carbonated water. It does have alcohol so I did give automatic .75 as a mandatory baseline judgement.

My brother’s favorite Mexican beer is just a little on the bland side for me. I prefer a Pacifico. But you know, it’s basically all the same. This one has a kind of a grass/earthy flavor that’s ok, I guess.

12 Fl. Oz. Bottle. Poured clear and yellow, white head and a bit of lacing. Aroma of grain. Taste is mostly grain and malts, some lemon in there too. Taste is sweet, bready and malty. Crisp and refreshing but nothing else interesting here.

On tap in Cancun in 2007 in plastic cups. I swear they were watering this down 1:1

On tap at WeWork Transbay SF. Dull pale yellow coloured pour with a fleeting with froth. Aroma is appley, sweet grains, adjunct, metal. Flavour is composed of light grains, water, apple, stewed veg, light carbonic finish. Palate is very light, semi sweet, moderate carbonation, thin. Meh.

This is a great beer for a hot day. Light and sometimes a little sweet. It tends to have a slight artificial flavor as you get to your third or fourth one. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Brilliant straw color. Generous foamy 2 finger white head, lasting 2 -3 minutes, strong legs and high activity. Faint flavors and aromas of corn, saaz, citrus, with slight skunky and metallic smell. Sharp with hints of sugar and a smoky feel. Light body with excessive prickly carbonation. Faint and short finish on the bitter end with a lemony aftertaste. Overall : Poor flavors, too watery, and a little stale.

330ml bottle. Maybe it was the green bottle and it had skunked, but this was the worst beer I have ever, EVER tasted or smelled. Just off, head only lasted a few seconds, but beer wasn’t flat. Utter rubbish, tipped down the sink.

Usual appearance for a lager, nothing fancy or noteworthy here. Goes down good, medium aftertaste. Good lager.

Had a bunch of this on tap at an all-inclusive in Mexico. Refreshing, and not bad as far as pale lagers go.

Look; white diminishing head, clear yellow golden body. Aroma; mild malts, lemon, paper, grass. Taste; very pale malts, paper, dust, grass - leading to a dusty finish. On palate thin. Overall; not the worst, but... [35cl green btl, abv4.5%, BB9.12.2015, B@Kilpishalli]
