not much better than a miller lite, but slightly more flavor. I gues I give it a better rating because it sucks. Litle to no flavor with a quickly disapating head.

Dos Equis Special Lager is a refreshing, crisp, golden, lager style beer imported from Mexico. Made with roasted malts, choice hops, a unique strain of yeast and purified water, this distinctive brew is known simply as “Lager” in its homeland.

Dos Equis Lager Especial is not very special. Like so many mass produced lagers, it suffers from a cheap choice of ingredients and low hop bitterness and character. As a result, the foam dissipates quickly. The color is clear golden and the aroma is very neutral. The taste is also very neutral with a corny aftertaste which comes from the use of high fructose corn syrup. This reminds me of Miller High Life. Not bad, but a bit pricey for a generic lager. Mexico makes some very nice beers, but this is not one of them.

Pours a clear golden color, topped with a frothy white head. Mild malty aroma, grainy, Slightly skunky. Taste is sweet and light, watery, with very little bitterness in the end. Not much to taste there.

Grassy, slight skunked aroma. Light airy taste. A crisp yet uneventful pale lager.

On tap at Taco Boy folly beach. Meh. Pours pale yellow. No head, lots of bubbles. Tastes like a light lager. Somewhat crisp. Really malty. Generally lacking much in terms of interest or flavor. Couple sips was enough.

I’m probably going to rate this beer higher than most. I learned to drink this beer in New Mexico along with Mexican food. Ice cold, with a lime along with some spicy chips and salsa, Fajita’s, Carne Asada, is where this beer shines. It is light, creamy, fizzy for a reason. Leaves the palate to enjoy the flavors of good mexican food.
