COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The story of Doss Blockos

’...the mole people then join the search, but they were real. There is no actual manifesto that evolved from the underground New York movement in the late 1990s, which is when we first brewed beneath the city’s railway systems. Our beer surfaced when squats started surfacing all around the Lower East Side, before those people came...’

Doss Blockos has been stripped bare of anything but but the essential taste we could ream from the specialty pale malt and cascade hops we have always used.

Light straw coloured, not much head. Weak taste , slightly sweet, with little mouthfeel. Had better pale ales.

This beer pours a beautiful pale amber with a tight white head. Pine on the nose but the taste is a little bit lacking. Nice beer

(Bottle) Clear golden with small short-lived head. Aroma is grassy, slightly metallic with hints of candy. Light body with good amount if fine carbonation. Taste is simple and basic, but within that constraint quite reasonable. There’s a nice balance of some light malt sweetness and some light tartness, with some reasonable hoppy bitterness to finish. Simple, refreshing and easily drinkable. [The paper bag was beige / tan with an interesting logo printed in dense black ink. The aroma was papery. The body was very substantial, it was thick paper with a rough to fluffy surface. I omitted to taste the bag, so cannot comment on the flavour other than surmising it would be similar to the aroma. The bag was well matched to the bottle, rendering it essentially useless for repurposing, however, in its context, it rates very highly on the hedonic scale.]

Bottle from misty. Tastes quite hoppy for a lager. Grassy hops and biscuit malts. Pretty solid for what it is. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours a light goldend color with a small head and no real lacing. Aroma of banana and grain with a bit of malt sweetness. Taste of mild malt sweetness and grain. Just a trace of bitterness and a clean finish. Light body smooth with a bit of malty character. Drinksable Pale LAger. Good for a couple.

Bottle from Mogo Vintage Cellars. Nothing special here, but far from a drain pour. Aroma was quite bready/yeasty, low bitterness. Expect so much more from micros these days.

Kinda ok. A little citrus, spice, pepper. Dry with no dumb notes. Almost light in the palate but does not lack intensity. Really quite good quaffing.

The aroma is overwhelmingly of grain and banana, with a little honey and butter. In the mouth, there’s a very mild hop bitterness, a tiny bit of malt late and that’s about it. Not a complex beer by any means but would be OK by the dozen on a warm summer’s night if not for the $4 price tag - I reckon I got charged $1.50 for the paper bag.
