COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The story of Doss Blockos ’...the mole people then join the search, but they were real. There is no actual manifesto that evolved from the underground New York movement in the late 1990s, which is when we first brewed beneath the city’s railway systems. Our beer surfaced when squats started surfacing all around the Lower East Side, before those people came...’ Doss Blockos has been stripped bare of anything but but the essential taste we could ream from the specialty pale malt and cascade hops we have always used.

330ml bottle. Packaged in a brown paper bag with an unusual label, I was not sure what to expect with this one. Bright golden amber colour and clear with a white foam head. Carries more aroma than your average pale lager, fruit, passionfruit maybe. Light and thin in the mouth with not much happening in the flavour department, lots of grain mostly. On the palate it is very thin. I think the paper bag and label is a bit of a marketing ploy to try dress up a pretty ordinary beer and make it out to be something that it is not.

From a 330ml bottle on 8/3/2012. Pours a clear golden yellow with no head. Has a very slight grainy aroma with a bit of bready malt. In the mouth, it’s very sweet, with more bready malt and a hint of banana. There’s just the barest evidence of hops. Okay for a pale lager but distinctly unexciting. Like the artwork on the bottle though.

Pours gold with a rapidly fading head. Nose shows bready malt and faint spicy hops. A bit plain. More bready malt as a flavour, also a grainy character. Finishes with a mild, off-putting bitterness. Carbonation is pretty full-on, body feels watery.

Bottle, pours a darkish amber colour, clear. caramelish taste to it, more of a banana I reckon. Packaging is clever, but a little bit stupid. Bottle comes in a brown paper bag with a logo on it. It’s not a bad beer, worth a crack I reckon (also, this is my first rating, still learning and drinking).
