Brown/creamy beige head. Creamy roast malt aroma - typical brown. Smooth brown malt flavor with some light chocolate. Very smooth and tasty. Mild ale? Seems more of a brown. But the bar guy was firm, and the tap handle backed him up.

tap. Pours dark brown with creamy white head. Aroma sweet and malty, caramel. Medium bodied and medium to low carbonation. Flavor of caramel, some hay malt, and more hoppy than expected, although not "hoppy" per se with a slight coppery aspect, and a crispness. Overall my favorite beer of the 4 I tried at dostal alley, not bad at all.

Pour was a light brownish color with a cream colored head. Aroma of caramel, chocolate, earth and some very light hops (which I was told were grown by the locals). The taste was malty, slightly sweet, with a minute hop presence. Not even enough to create any bitterness. It had a creamy, medium body that would have made it extremely easy to drink several. Nothing fancy here, but enjoyable stuff.

On tap at Dostal Alley poured a clear reddish brown with a lasting tan head. Aromas of carmel, graininess, earthiness and light butterscotch. Palate was medium bodied and smooth with a dry finish. Flavors of carmel, earthiness and light graininess with a smooth dry malty finish.

Amber in color. Sweet, bready malts. Sweet, aromatic hops (I was told they grew them locally). Hardly any bitterness. Would make a great session beer, as it was painfully easy to drink. I really enjoyed the hop aromatics, sweet with earthy qualities (couldn't put my finger on the hop though).

Ernest (5185) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - SEP 15, 2002
Draught. Medium amber. Aroma is moderately malty (caramel, toasted light bread), moderately hoppy (resin), lightly yeasty (dough). Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly bitter, lightly acidic. Finish is lightly sweet, moderately acidic, lightly bitter. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation.
