Our Signature beer, Bad Tom Smith American Brown Ale is a beer to please even the most meanest of outlaws. Not too malty or sweet, like those other “Wimpy” beers. We balance the sweetness with a large amount of, good ol’, American hops to strike the best balanced beer you have had in a long time. A beer perfect for any occasion. Try this beer with a mess of wings or your next meat lover’s pizza.

Flavor: Our use of medium Crystal malts lends to a sweet, caramel flavor. Hop bitterness is noticeable but not overpowering. Clean, sweet finish.

Clarity: Very clear.

Aroma: A clear, crisp sweetness in noticed along with an assertive hop aroma. Not as much as a pale ale or IPA but there.

Draft sample at Volksfest. Pours brown in color with a medium sized off white head. The aroma and flavor have toasted malts, chocolate, a bunch of fruit character, almost candy like sweetness, caramel, better than some of their beers, but not something I would revisit.

Mild and nutty. Light-ish. Really light. People around me are ruining the score of the game I am intentionally not watching so I can enjoy this beer tour. Grrrrrr

on tap @ Party Town / Florence KY --- Cloudy dark amber color, heavy bubbly off-white rim head, spots and dots of lace. Taste is heavy sweet malt that turns crisp and a little bitter on the swallow. Overall. a little heavy in the stomach, but, otherwise, satisfactory.

Sample at The Daily Growler. Cloudy dark brown color with a medium beige head that dissipates steadily to an outer ring. Strings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of roasted malt, hops and caramel. Light-bodied with flavors of bready malt, caramel and mild hops. The finish is sweet with a short caramel malt aftertaste. Decent overall.

Draft at Double Barrel taproom, summer 2013. Nice brown/dark amber hue, moderate malty/fruity nose, thin body, malty/fruity flavor with a prominent dark berry note. Interesting, refreshing brew that to my taste buds is kind of like a cross between a brown ale and a fruit beer. Might be a good gateway beer for those getting into craft brew
