| 4.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 19/20 | Feb 8, 2010 22oz bottle. "Welcomed by a thundering absence of" NOTHING ! Very aggressive taste, as I like those wicked crazy out-of-control beers. Full-bodied slighlty sweet maltiness, with notes of vanilla and fruits, with a kick-ass mainly citrusy hopping domination. I could drink only that beer for the rest of my life and be happier than anyone who ever lived. A hophead wonder and an overall tremendous brew. Sorry, I have to: "You’re better of empty and blank, then left with a single pathetic trace of this..." I finished the whole bottle by myself without any effort, praying I would taste it again as soon as possible. I love Stone. And LOG... Skinnyviking (4342), Copenhagen, Denmark

Dark brown colour with pale brown head. Rich nose, where almond paste, grassy hops and chocolate dominate. Thick, sweet and malty flavour, like a Barley Wine. Almost syrupy. Chocolate. Lots of hopiness. Really sweet. I don’t know. According to my score, I think I liked it... Bukowski9 (102), Piqua, Ohio, USA

| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Feb 5, 2010 22oz bottle from 16th St. Liquor in West Vancouver (Thanks Chris!). Pours a translucent dark reddish brown with an off-white head that lasts a fair time and shows some lacing. The aroma is strong and complex with caramel, cola, citrus and hops. The flavor is hops forward with bitter hops being the first taste sensation you notice, rounding out the sides are caramel, toffee and cola. The mouthfeel is full, creamy and satisfying from start to end; the carbonation is lively and prickly. The alcohol is well hidden, perhaps a touch shows on finish, but because of effective use of hops it is not distracting. The finish is dominated by more lingering bitter hops and caramel. Overall: I love this beer. Gotta’ stock up the cellar, this is a great year and it should age very well. Recommended. mcbeyond (82), Newport Beach, California, USA

Complex, sweetish nose with furniture polish and herbs. Very punchy on the palate with a long finish and a pleasant phenolic, smoky bitterness. DandyWolfFloyd (364), Jim Thorpe, Pennsylvania, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Feb 2, 2010 Here we are again Stone, "Hello." What did you bring with you in that case of yours? A bounty of hops I’m guessing. Really, how could you asume anything else. Stone does always say, maybe just a little more. I appreciate their bold persona and their beers. The beer is full of heady Northwestern American hops - Tomahawk, Chinook, Warrior, Cascades and alcoholic laden malt bodies, oh that oily hoppitude. The beer is a dark orange-brown color with a thick rust head. Sexual lacing along the side of the glass. I’d describe this drink like handling a ram in your mouth. It’s not for beginners, in fact your likely to cave in from your mouth making a unique spectacle. The beer is like a smoking hop being ground into your mouth. When along comes an alcohol medley via fortified malts. The beer is unapologetically full, oily, with soft carbonation. The finish is abruptly bitter that cools and yields to the alcohol. Rygar stone, rygar!!!
