| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Nov 22, 2009 2009 Bomber. Beautiful rich, dark red pour. Minimal head allows for full appreciation of the sharply pungent pine and pink grapefruit cirtus hops that pervade the nose. Wow, what a beer. Flavor is strongly of pine and carmal-combined-with-citrus. There is a pleasant smoky quality in the later palate that balances out the impossibe-to-hide booze. | 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Nov 22, 2009 2009 bomber, drank fresh. Pours a murky dark amber with a thin off-white head that lightly laces the glass. Nose of hops (tropical fruits, citrus, some pine), toffee and caramel malts, some brown sugar. Flavor is mildly sweet with strong resiny hop bitterness, some hints of tropical fruits, a bit of grapefruit and pine on the finish, some toffee. The hop bitterness helps cut the malty sweetness, medium carbonation. chickenflea (14), Oviedo, Florida, USA

The only beer all night that everyone at the table liked: hopheads and malt lovers alike. Sweet and tasty up front with roasty malt flavor. A very nice hop finish. This beer can do some damage because you won’t want to stop drinking it! dand645 (91), Bayonne, New Jersey, USA

| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Nov 17, 2009 22 oz Bottle -- Pours a rich cloudy amber with an off-white head. Very complex and balanced. Malts are strong providing caramel, dried fruits, and some roasted flavors on the back end. Hops are there for sure bringing some citrus and pine. A little salty and the alcohol is very present on the palate. Flavors last long for a long finish. It’s arrogant bastard turned up a notch with some more sweetness. Served in the stone double bastard glass which was a nice touch. Aroma is citurs and pine hops with sweet malt. Alot going on here...hoppy with heavy malt, wood. Warming alcohol finish and more hops. A big beer to be savoured and enjoyed.
