Dufter og smager af mørke tørrede frugter, karameller, noget gran og godt med humle. Birdiebeagle (782), Perkasie, Pennsylvania, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Apr 16, 2009 Bottle Pours a murky brown with a decent tan head. The head is creamy, lasting and seems to lace well. Has an aroma of malts mixed with hops and some straw. It is a total mix depending which hits you first. Wow this has a lot of flavors hitting you. It sweet, but yet that changes to tangy and hoppy within a second. Has its own presence about itself. Has light carbination, good mouthfeel. Has a strong finish. Has a heavy body. The textureis thick like you could eat it with a spoon. A solid kick butt beer. boFNjackson (1265), Portland, Oregon, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Apr 16, 2009 Bottle... Poured amber with an off-white head. Herbal aroma. Thick, creamy palate with tangy fruits, a little bit of hops, and a big malty finish. mcferc4 (56), New Jersey, USA

Strong on both the malt and hops front; a great beer kicked into overdrive. Well balanced. DubC5000 (197), San Diego, California, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Apr 10, 2009 A bronze-hued brew. Off the nose, rich maltiness, belgianesqe sweetness, and a depth that can only be attributed to the copious amount of alcohol. Wow. A strong punch of woody barrel flavors and heavy-handed maltiness with a slight bitterness toward the end. Hits your gut with a ’thunk.’ Hits your brain shortly thereafter. It’s certainly not a casual sipper or a grab and go but its got a lot of character, and I’ll give it due credit for that. ThomasWilder (15), Virginia Beach, Virginia, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 18/20 | Apr 9, 2009 I had this after having an Arrogant Bastard and I was shocked to find that I liked the Double Bastard a bit more. It has a cloudy appearance where as the Arrogant Bastard does not. It’s a bit sweeter and has less of a hoppy bite. It goes down smoother. The inexperienced beer drinker will be more likely to dig this beer than Arrogant Bastard. altehkiller (71), , California, USA
| 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 19/20 | Apr 6, 2009 The bigger brother of the Arrogant Bastard and more intense in every way except for harshness. It is actually smoother than the regular one, but that alcohol rating will sneak up on you. Great beer that really shows the talent of Stone Brewing Co.
