JaBier (1130), Capital City, Ohio, USA Dec 16, 2008 22oz bottle. Had this once or twice before and could not wait for this batch to come out. Pours a deep amber, almost light brown, with a huge off-white head. Lots of hop in the nose, but a good amount of caramelly malt too. Tons of hop flavor up front, followed by a slight alcohol burn and a carmelly malt finish. Alcohol sticks around for the aftertaste. Superb stuff. BeerNeedy (60), Anchorage, Alaska, USA Dec 16, 2008 22 Oz Bottle. Poured a somewhat cloudy amber with a small tan head. The aroma was compelling and the taste did not disappoint. This is a big bold ale which doesnt rely on a lot of fruity or chocolate notes to get the job done. Stoneworthy! nefarious (202), Clarkston, Michigan, USA Dec 15, 2008 Deep Murky copper color. Huge pine, and earthy hop aroma, with sweetness and slight alcohol notes. WOW. Almost a huge DIPA character. Extremely thick on the tounge and an awesome wood flavor on top of the MASSIVE hops. The alcohol it very noticable but it finishes unbeliveably for as wicked as this shit is....Superb. craftycarl21 (513), South Hero, Vermont, USA Dec 15, 2008 I have been looking for this beer for the better part of a year, and I finally found it. Pours a deep, deep ruby that makes the beer look as badass as advertised. The foreground of the aroma is hops, but oh so many different styles- grapefruit, sweet pineapple, pine, and floral aspects blend into an assaulting beautiful hop smell. This is coupled with a marked malt presence, with sweet and sticky dark fruit evident. Flavor is incredible- the hops remains massive, and the malty side contributes to a gorgeous palate that covers your entire mouth with waves of flavor. This beer is phenomenal. gnoff (3560), Göteborg, Sweden Dec 14, 2008 65 cl bottle thanks deft. BB March 2010. Hazy orange to copper color, orange to tan head. Sweet, hoppy scent. Bitter, a bit sweet, grainy, dry taste. Alcohol aftertaste. Smooth mouthfeel, high bitterness. MrChopin (622), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA Dec 14, 2008 Fiery amber with a yellow head. Fruity nose has a lot of grapefruit, hop rich stuff, and some dank caramel. Flavor is similar but less fruit, more caramel, and a lot of alcohol coming on with warmth. Quite a lot of bludgeoning here. Body is oily and syurpy. Not incredibly refined, it certainly is abusive. natejgood (189), Denver, Colorado, USA Dec 14, 2008 This beer pours a reddish brown with hints or orange. It is a nice looking beer. The first thing noticed about the aroma is that it is very hoppy. It may also have some sweet undertones to the aroma. This beer drinks like an IPA with a really heavy body. It has a ton of hops without being overly bitter. This beer is velvety with small bubbles in the mouth. BeerBaron617 (306), Novi, Michigan, USA Dec 11, 2008 I just poured my bottle of this brew and igotta say it looks great Its got nice contrast between beer color and head color. The flavor on the hand could be a little more balanced but thats just me. It does have a wonderful smokey sweet start followed by a hint of raisins. Its definitely not my favorite from Stone but it is up there and I would most likely get this again. Cheers
