Commercial Description:
This is a lacerative muther of a beer. The evil big brother of Arrogant Bastard Ale. It is strongly suggested you stay far, far away from this beer. Those foolish enough to venture close enough to taste will experience a punishingly unforgiving assault on the palate. ’Course there’s always the masochists...

(bottle from AJ’s Glendale, AZ-2007 release): Pours a reddish brown color body, clearish. Big tan head, lasting. Sweet caramel aroma, not as hoppy as the original. Somewhat grapey, effervescent. Caramel taste, not as hoppy. Sweet & malty. Caustic taste, some hops. Dry.

Bottle. Pours lazily a thick, deep reddish brown, hazy with thin beige head. Aroma has vanilla, raspberries, pineapple, peach, caramel with slightly floral hints, as well. Flavor is thick raw caramel, citrus peel hop notes, slight smokiness and pungent alcohol. Palate is resiny, oily, thick. Alcohol and light citrus hop flavors, and a very mild bitterness coat the mouth in the finish. Very full, resiny, oily mouthfeel. Intense and warming.

Nothing special here. Enjoyable, and generally well-made, with well-masked alcohol. Not sure why this is so highly rated - maybe my beer lost something during the plane trip - anyone know anything about that?

The aroma is full of citrus hops and caramel malt. The appearance is deep amber with a foamy head. The flavor is like the aroma meaning that it’s simple but effective. The hops and caramel are strong! The palate is very smooth. Overall I like it a lot.
