This is a lacerative muther of a beer. The evil big brother of Arrogant Bastard Ale. It is strongly suggested you stay far, far away from this beer. Those foolish enough to venture close enough to taste will experience a punishingly unforgiving assault on the palate. ’Course there’s always the masochists...

Tap. Pours mostly clear, tawny brown with average, creamy off-white head; good retention and lacing. Aroma is caramel, cookie, and cereal malts, figs, earthy hops, oak, pine, and faint herbs. Flavor is sweet malt initially followed by smooth oak and hops (medium bitterness) with some dark fruit esters; dry, hoppy finish. Medium body and low carbonation.

Aroma: intense grain malts, heavy, ripe fruits, caramel, alcohol. Appearance: hazy, dark amber, small, beige head. Taste: light sweet. Palate: very sweet malts expanding, intense overripe fruit, alcohol, turning very bitter and slightly dry in the finish. Overall: very nice IIPA, excellent aroma. Pint at Stone Brewing, Escondido.

Eh it’s okay. It’s a strong beer for sure and lives up to its name. All the things about not being worthy etc it’s not that tough. Aroma is syrupy sweetness. Lots and lots of malt. Like a ton. Not bad just don’t expect something else. The taste is alright. I heard from people it has a really subtle alcohol burn and that’s true. For how high ABV it is it definitely doesn’t show which is good. Realllllly bitter, and sweet. Some hopiness but definitely takes a backstage to the sweet malt. It’s not bad just in my opinion kind of average. I couldn’t really pick out something i really liked about it.

Pours a hazy copper color. Caramel citrusy taste. Hoppy flavor. Thick on the palat. Low carbonation but the head retention is very good. Alcohol warmth is noticable but not overpowering.

Mikon luona. Really thick, complex, roasted malty taste with well balanced drying aftertaste. Wonderful.

From bomber. Pours a copper red with a big fluffy head and lots of lacing on the glass. Aroma is toffee and caramel and pine. Taste is the same, with a big malty sweetness and an even bigger hoppy pine bite. This is Stone, after all. This is like a big hoppy barleywine. Alcohol is present, but not as obvious as the ABV would lead you to believe. Bitter finish. A delightful BIG beer.

Look: pours a dark copper color. Light tan/ off white head. Hazy with slightly large pieces floating in it. Smell: sweetness. Caramel. Alcohol. Oak. Toffee. Taste: slight bitterness on the back. Very sweet up front. Hot alcohol. Oak. Vanilla. Caramel and toffee. Feel: leaves a thick film on the mouth like an IPA. Overall: ok beer. Very hot alcohol. But still good. First drank: home 8/23/14
