This is a lacerative muther of a beer. The evil big brother of Arrogant Bastard Ale. It is strongly suggested you stay far, far away from this beer. Those foolish enough to venture close enough to taste will experience a punishingly unforgiving assault on the palate. ’Course there’s always the masochists...

Drank from a bottle poured into a glass. Subtle and rich hops aroma. Foamy, toasted-looking head. The real treat comes when you actually drink it! Delicious malt flavor with the perfect amount of hoppy bitterness (if you’re into that!). My favorite part of this beer is the mouthfeel: very clean on the palate for such a hoppy beer: medium to full bodied with a slightly creamy finish. Overall a very satisfying yet drinkable beer! Highly recommended!

Big bottle in Amsterdam. Dark reddish body with slight head. Nose is caramel, malts, toffee, fruity. Taste is toasty ad malty and deep oaky. Really nice. Malts and sweets in there. Very alcy and comes in strong.

Poured from 1 pt 6 fl oz bottle - 2013 release [bottled 10/08/13] (11.2%). Medium amber brown with beige head. Lots of dried fruits, plum, and hops, very barley-winey, mild alcohol.

A Stone legendás főzetének arrogánsabb verziója hasonlóan tündöklő, réz színű köntösben jelenik meg, s atomerőmű intenzitású illatfergeteget szabadít ránk rögtön, az üveg felnyitását követően. Gyantából gyúrt tészta mázsás súlyú aromája terpeszkedik szét hirtelen, mézes tobozok, juharszirup gazdag aromája festi meg a levegőt. Vehemens illatai nem sok reményt hagynak a visszafogottabb fogyasztók számára ízét illetően, s ahogy sejteni lehetett, szinte szétrobban a szánkban az ízjegyek tűzijátéka. Nehéz zamatai alatt nyögnek az ízlelőbimbók, mézédes, túlcsordulóan telt testben szabadulnak el a szirupban fürdőző aszalványok, tejszínes gyümölcslikőr, komlótobozokkal díszített sárgabarackbefőtt vonalait megidéző komponensek. Hosszan elnyúló, mondanivalóval teli kesernye adja meg az ívét a főzetnek, melyet nem mindennapi jellege igazán emlékezetessé tesz szakavatott komlófetisiszták számára.

Pours dark amber with a small head. Nose shows sweet malt, spicy and resinous hops, caramel and sultanas. Flavours are equally spicy and herbal with heaps more malt following through afterwards alongside a bit of booze.

Keg at Ushers, at 10.5%. Pours clear deep ruby. Nose is sweet burnt toffee, malts, dried fruits. Very nice. Taste is sweet oaky caramel or burnt toffee, more oak and wood, decent bitterness, loads of maltiness. Very nice. Needless to say but this kind of beer out of keg without 30mins warming simply tastes horribly boozy.

Bottle, 2013. Pours amber, clear, solid head. Aroma is mainly malt and aome druits, quite clean. In taste medium sweet, a bit boozy and fruity with very strong bitterness, which is just fantastic, not harsh, not astringent etc. Medium body, dry finish. Very nice ale, maybe worth longer cellaring for the better aroma.

Bottle to tulip. Pours copper with an off-white head and a lot of sticky lacing. A lot of malt and dried fruit in the aroma, with some almonds hanging out in the background. Taste is a little sweet - raisins and caramel - with a lot of bitterness and boozy heat. Definitely no hiding the ABV in this one.

2013 Bottle - July 4th BBQ tastings. Red appearance with thin white lacing. Aroma is oak, caramel, wood, some smoke cheese. Taste is oak, blackcurrants, smoked cheese, some Bamberg malts perhaps? If not I’d like to see some in this.
